Even though my post have been tough on Dino i believe that todays effort is indicative of next season being much better.
Why? Because the kids played their hearts out. In any difficult situation how people respond is almost always the key indicator for future success or failure.
Its the foundation and Dino still has the players giving their all so there is hope. Couple that with the youth of the team and its not a stretch to see this team doing well next year.
At this point Dino needs to do his best to convince as many Seniors to return. At the top of my list are 3 players. Not for what they necessarily bring to the field but rather what they bring to the locker room.
1: Rhino.
2: Kingsley.
3: Rex
Three amazing teamates. Three Leaders.
Im not going to go into the negatives that need to be addressed as im hopeful Dino understands and is planning on addressing them.
Great effort by the guys today. There is hope for the future.

Don't want to speculate too much but based on the Senior walk after the game it looks like Kingsley and Rex are moving on.

The kids gave their all and played their hearts out yesterday. I always love to see that. We do have some good young talent who are getting some valuable snaps this year. It is much better and faster development playing in games than watching from the sidelines.

Agree totally about the effort. We have gaps in talent, we have a ton of kids on defense playing as true frosh, and we are lacking size in keys spots.
But the kids are playing hard and yesterday they gave fans a game with memorable plays right to the last series.

The effort is proof that the team is still behind Dino. I loved seeing Tommy cheering the guys. Really hope that he doesn't leave as i think he can light it up next year.

If Nyk, Black, Hack, Williams Rex Rhino and Kingsley return this team will win a minimum of 7 games.

We need a starting DT with size, a game ready WR, and a plug and play OL.
3 additions, return the seniors, take a fresh look at our offensive scheme and if needed replace some coaches.
That is a busy off season but one that should be attainable.

I would expect that none of the players would make a decision to stay or go until the season is over and we see light at the end of the tunnel. Then you have to decide do they want to stay in school another year let alone play football

The defense, with so many young players, was fun to watch yesterday.
They play with swagger and attitude, and made some nice plays.
The one NCS TD in the corner of the end zone was well defended -QB just threw a perfect ball.
With all those young guys, cautiously optimistic regarding SU's D in coming years!

To many glaring weaknesses on next years team for a winning season. QB is of course the main problem and I think we are screwed even if every available QB comes back. Dline is going to be a problem because I think the seniors bolt. Oline will be a problem like every year under Dino. Our only prayer is many impact transfers.

I have no idea how many games we can expect to win next year. I’ve never been good at that game - and most people here aren’t either from what I can tell.
As you said, the team is with him. They’re playing hard. Plus I like a lot if what Dino brings to the program. I want him to succeed. I feel like I did in 1986 when people wanted Mac fired. I still with Dino too. I’m able to put my disappointment with this season aside. The players and coaches will too.
