Can an offense be this incompetent? Is it even POSSIBLE?
And ironically we can't defend a bubble screen. Something I will never understand.
Muschamp? NooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooThis team has regressed significantly. I would fire shafer after the BC game and spend the cash to bring in Muschamp. We have some young players with potential but we need a real coaching staff and a power conference D1 QB. Gross obviously won't do it though because that will make him 1 for 3 in coaching hires and possibly cost him his job. He'll ride out this disaster until he has no other option but admit defeat.
We can't afford Muschamp!..Are you serious? Syracuse has no money . The big name coaches that we are crying for are out of our price range. Given that fact, the best we can continue to do is hire "up and coming coaches" that will work for cheap. I am sorry to be so blunt, but that is our reality. It is not a bad position to be in if you make the right hire and the guy taken can coach and can put together a dynamic staff. This team has regressed significantly. Bubble screens can be effective if executed properly. Note: the pass to the wideout was not contended first, secondly, the receiver did not have to beat an unblocked defender behind the line of scrimmage and thirdly, there was down field blocking and a seam for the receiver to run through. Big difference compared to how we run our bubbles. At least we knew why McDonald was so dead set on jamming them down our throats. I imagine they looked spectacular in practice.
Next year will be awful. Shafer's a lame-duck at this point, unless he pulls off a miracle.excited for next year...:bang:
we need a miracle is what we need

2.75 million………We don't have that kind of money. Our entire football staff together probably gets 2.75 million.I am absolutely serious. Florida was paying him around 2.75 million a year, which is about what Washington State is paying Mike Leach. Virginia is paying Mike London 2.3 million a year. Offer Muschamp around 2.2-2.3 with a decent contract length and see what he thinks. It's a complete long shot, but you miss every shot you don't take. Our unwillingness to pay for quality coaching is one of the biggest reasons we have suffered through 10+ years of subpar football.
