We’ve added a lot of new players with real experience at the lower levels of college football, and I expect that to bring much more consistency this season. Overall, I think the talent and experience are improved from last year across the board, and there’s a strong group of young players who look ready to contribute in year one or year two. The true and redshirt freshmen, especially along the offensive line, defensive line, and in the defensive back room, have a real opportunity to climb the depth chart this spring, and I believe some will. I’m especially watching the position battles at OL, DL, DB, and WR, and I’m excited to see what 5-star wide receiver Calvin Russell Jr. can do. This is just my early take on the roster, and with players likely switching positions during spring ball, I’ll put together a post-spring depth chart once things start to settle:

Thanks for throwing this together and helping distract me from reading the basketball board.

Looking at the roster in this format makes me feel a bit better about the overall talent. It is just so damn hard to project now with all the turnover. We have some very young, but very exciting talent and we will need some of the young guys to be studs in order to have the season we want. There are a ton of bodies on the OL and as always we need this unit to come together. With Buxton gone, we really need some youth to shine at safety, looks a bit light on talent/production.

Not a bad effort.

I think Cruz is an OG. Maybe a C. Definitely not an OT.. And he will surely be a starter. I think Mack should be penciled in as a starter at OT as well.

Add Shepard, Scatliffe and Shevchenko to your list of OTs. I think they are all OTs. Maybe Scatliffe will play inside.

I think Hawn is really likely to start at C or OT.

I would have Adeleye as a starter at DE. Makes no sense to be a situational player there. Hope Tremble develops more under Vince.

Ok thanks I was trying my best to make sure guys were on the roster and at the correct positions. Definitely should have taken more time lol I was at school and bored so I did this for 2 hours.

Updated the depth chart let me know what you guys think and what you would change. Just want to get the ball rolling in talking about spring ball more.

I am really high on Hughes I think he will have a chance to play right away as a true freshman

Safety room really scares me tbh. Gonna need the young guys to step up. Braheem Long will be fine. NEED Hughes to be healthy. He’s a stud. Really hope Andrews takes a step up, he’s big, long and fast. And need Snowden to play to his potential coming out of high school. If those 4 do their things and stay healthy we will be fine. But to me the Safety position hinges on those 4

Safety is a concern but it’s one of those things where I hope if they feel it’s not up to par that move a corner like Samuels over to safety and slot in a corner in his place. Safety in the 4-2-5 is the most important part.

I believe Hughes long and Perry and of course buxton will help Snowden has the tools to be a great and long coverage safety as well.

100%. Thought the same thing. But I think it would be either Nazir Ward or Javon Lawrence.

There’s also the possibility they find someone in the portal after spring. Fran is always recruiting. I know there is no Spring Portal window. But it seems like every year we find some late finds whether it’s in the portal or high school. I bet we add a couple more guys for this upcoming season before the season starts. The only issue is if the guy is still in the portal or not signed yet as a high schooler. What’s the quality of player and what’s the reason they aren’t signed. You’d have to find a real diamond in the rough like Gill was. Or you’d have to go JUCO route

Good List
WR I think Merriweather is going to start somewhere and Cole is going to push for palying time
We have a nice log jam at WR2 - WR4, need to home Russel is WR1 or someone can step up"
Outten is the sleeper of the group
Yup starters will probably be Russell, Merriweather (people aren’t talking about him enough) then either Boobie or Williams. Weaver will get some good run. Outten I think will be used more of a gadget player. And 2nd string behind Merriweather probably

This seems like a 5-7 team if there ever was one. A lot of opportunities for younger guys to step up. Hopefully the new defensive staff makes a huge impact.

I really like Outen Moore and Gough as a trio that can really step up
