So Dukes would be thrown into the mix as another big back that had 40+ carries, and unproven. And throw a wrench into the current rb situation. If he was proven or had a very special obvious talent, then I could see it. We've got plenty of talent at the position that are on his level, imo.

Our "talent" is totally unproven. Dukes has more experience than any of them. Off of what I've seen, he also has more ability.

can players transfer without cause, AFTER this season??

to me, it was so close to the start of practice that i really couldnt see any school aggressivly recruiting someone over the guys who are currently on the depth chart and all geeked up for the season.

but if they are coming in as a transfer, recruit or juco in january......different story.

i hope marrone asked obie for the list of players he was recruiting for 13, because at least 10 arent going to ped st.

Obviously, the coaches know the team better than any fans. They also know everything that went on with Curtis Dukes and the reasons decision were made, (I suspect that academics and Marrone's relationship with O'Brien were factors). But not everything coaches do works out favorably. They make mistakes or misjudgements. And to claim that fans don't have a right to an opinion because they aren't coaches is wrong. We might as well close down the forum if that were the case.

I think that's essentially true. However, in some situations it's obvious that we don't have all of the facts. I suspect this is one of those times.

stern can read the thoughts of both andy reid and Doug Marrone...and hes decided both are wrong and dont know what theyre doing or talking about.

I never said I did...lol. I just said others might know them better than him. Cause they sure as hell didn't respond to him at all last year down the stretch.

Some of you guys are all so ***** sensitive really. The first 2 game losing streak Doug has the vast majority of this board will be flipping out on him and questioning plays and decisions he made. Doug had a god awful season last year as head coach the team tanked halfway through the year and never rebounded. Yet we can't question him? As SWC said, shut down this board then if we all have to drink the Kool Aid and can't have an opinion!

I got 3 years of evidence that Doug ain't the best football coach in the world. Is he terrible? NO. Is he a football god? HELL NO! I have opinions and question a lot of his decisions. Until he can put together back-to-back winning years and producing a winning team consistently, sorry I am going to still feel that way. You want me to shut up, have him PROVE ME WRONG! Very simple. If he wins games, I will say NICE things about Doug and change my opinion. Until then, I will continue to have my same opinion as the facts back it up.

I never CLAIMED to be smarter than Doug. But I can see a won-loss record column and a scoreboard. And its not difficult to "question" if he is the right man for the job with the facts in front of you. Were we not allowed to question GROB? Or Pasqualoni? Give me a break! Seriously. Get off the high horse people. Not everyone drinks the Kool Aid and has the same opinion as "you."

Talk about a high horse. Don't hurt yourself there Stern. No one is saying that Marrone is Bear Bryant. All I was saying is that I'm sure that Marrone has more info on Dukes and his own team than any of us do. Yes, we are all familiar with how the team did down the stretch. Marrone is certainly not infallible. I would hope he, or any coach, would make decisions based on what will improve their chances to win. SU alum or not, if SU doesn't win, Marrone will be gone. Sorry to disappoint you, but I won't be contacting Marrone in an effort to prove you wrong.

You may think you get it but unless you are in the inner circle of the decisions on the team everything you think you know is speculative. It could be anything that kept DM from bringing him in.
