My Take

People would rather complain than use an obvious solution.
this is a joke right?

During a live game there is no chance to walk to MVC and try to watch a live game. I went over there one game at half time. From my seat down to that section and back without even trying to get any food service took 30 min.

Sure we can all dig a phone out and go look up scores. But you cant if you are actually tryting to use your phone to watch another game that might be important

So your solution is that SU should offer the service but implement it poorly? You make it sound like everyone wants to watch a game with their phone out? Hard to clap and get excited holding your phone. No place to set it down on seats any more as well.

We could do the same for stats.

But during a live game when there is a stream of data being presented on a 100ft tv in your face for everyone to see they shouldn't try to do it well.

Much like getting to the game 30 min early go to get a hot dog, go past the lines to the grab and go, no hot dogs, go back to the lines stand for 20 min to find out the were waiting on hot dogs and get to my seat just as the kickoff happens.

Explain to me why when i go to an MLB game I can find out the score of every game within secs of it changing. The Same for a Bills game. Even NBA/NHL games show scores. People have phones there too?

You can make the experience better. It sucks on the easy stuff.

How long ago was it they actually took the time to announce out of town scores. They used to announce the Mets/Yank scores in post season

I'm with upperdeck... The whole point of signs in the stadiums is for information... Not your cell phone. In fact, wait till there is a cell phone ban for sports events since there better than some cameras now. Or how about 30 years ago when they didnt exist... The signs/scoreboards haven't changed as much as they have. Just cost less.

Yeah, It's a bad design. There was something similar last year and it was easy to discern. But the corporate sponsorship of CINTAS was the winning team for the uniforms of the NCAA but definitely not scoring stats. You cannot see the background logo at all from any distance over 100 feet or the bottom line which goes to CINTAS also.
I forgot to add they use to always duplicate everything so they could be seen from both sides... I don't know if it was true that there was one visible on the vistors side either. If not, then it was more to give all the 'orange' seats a view of how bad we were but figure out which stats were ours.

You're attending our game, watching another game on your phone, and so you can't check out of town scores so SU needs to do a better job of having those out of town scores posted. So you can see that. While you're watching our game. While you're watching another game on your phone.

Seems like just yesterday we couldn't get WiFi working, but now that we have it...

I watched on TV, and noticed that they put up a pole with something that looks like a bunch of WiFi antennas on it at the 50 yard line RIGHT IN LINE with the TV camera's field of vision. It blocks the view of center of the field on TV! It looks such a rinky dink operation. Please tell me this is temporary.

I didn't notice such a pole on the other side of the field (which would not block the TV view). And why couldn't these antennas (assuming that's what the are) be hung from the magnificent steel framed roof, where they wouldn't block anyone's view?
Watched a ton of games this weekend and never saw this setup for any game.

Seems that they are 4 individual modem units with the stems. Something to do with 5G?
Technically those could be consider modems... but they are WiFi... Probably coaching and helmet comms as was stated... I imagine after all the wireless complaints for the 'JMA wireless dome' since the naming the signal for that is pretty blasting all around that they need their own network too maybe also for regulations etc.. all of them so close is kinda stupid as any good network/signals person would tell you they are just causing their own transmit/receive interference.

Whatever this thing does, there's no way that it should be located to block the view of all of our nationally televised games! Obviously, it is also obstructing the view of a lot fans in expensive seats.

Gotta be one of the dumbest decisions ever.
