Wow didnt expect that. What is up with SU and National TV games? Thank God the NFL pulled most of the viewership away. Personally i dont take too much stock in this game. Pitt has a good D and a better D coach in Nard who is excellent on that side of the ball. He had two weeks to game plan SU and he did a great job. Combine that with Kyle being completely off his game and Bingo, The perfect storm. Kyles weakness was exposed big time last night and it finally caught up with us. The pick on the sideline was an excellent job by the D. Fantastic job and many QBs would have thrown that pick. The other picks were to a certain degree bad luck. Bottom line is i doubt we see another game like this from Kyle. On a positive note i thought that the D played very well. I believe that if the game had been a normal contest without the picks, we would have held them under 25 point which should have been good enough to keep us in it until the end.

It takes a long time to build a program and being 5_2 at this point in the season is excellent. Fran is the right person to lead us. Yes, he is learning and has much to learn. Still, he is building SU back the right way, a way that will be sustainable and I'm all in on him. Nixon is an excellent OC and will make the adjustments necessary to counter another team taking the same approach as Pitt. Every game we play this year is going to be a dog fight as we simply do not have the depth, or the balance needed to dominate teams. That will improve each year, this is year one and I'm very impressed with the progress that has already been made.

It was great to see Pena and Wax back. Hopefully OG and Willis are ok. All in all im not too concerned about last nights game as i dont believe it is indicative of our team and i dont see it as an indication that we need to make major changes. Stay the course. Keep following the plan and good things will happen.
Go Cuse!

Disagree. I think every pick 6 was a horrendous decision to throw the ball. Some of it was tunnel vision and some of it was "Fluck it I'll throw it anyway". The other interception early was also a throw into tight coverage. We have to figure out a way to get the receivers into spots where there isn't zero margin for error. It's that simple.

Fran is the right guy to lead the team and he had a really bad night. Two things can be right. The coaching stunk last night and that's on Fran. The quarterbacking stunk and that's on McCord.

A good coach takes the time to fix things and get the heads right on the team. We've had too many HC who take a bad loss and make it worse.

This is actually the start of Fran's tenure now. Let's see how he deals with some adversity

I agree some of the picks could be filed under flukey. The pick 6's were just poor throws to receivers running poor patterns.

Well said, IMO, we have the right coach and he will fix the problems.

The pick 6s were all by LBs playing excellent coverage in a well executed scheme to play underneath those routes. The route running by the WRs had very little to do with that outcome. The problem was the failure or inability to adapt to that coverage, along with poor decision making by the QB.

Heis just deciding to throwit whether they areopen or not ya know.

McCord like most good QBs throws to a spot before the break of the WR. Personally i dont like him throwing short over the middle as we have had multiple passes this year that were short and middle patterns that we were very lucky on.

McCord at times seems like he always has to make a play. Despite our problems with punting, sometimes you just have to throw the ball away and punt. It seems like all year our receivers have been making tough catches in tight windows. Last night Pitt closed the windows completely.

Good post. Our issues are multiple but most of them start with the OL. We are also lacking speed in the RB position. LA is an animal total baller, but he can't get outside and lacks the speed needed to hit holes quickly, so he is part of the issue. I like that Fran places a big premium on speed and size as they can't be taught. We need to bring in a speed back that is game ready next year. It's tough being one dimensional especially when you have a solid D and great D coach that have two weeks to game plan for you.

Wonder if Malachi James will be ready to step into a bigger role next year.

If Syracuse had Babers still and he put up a performance like this everyone would want him thrown out asap. I know Brown is learning but unfortunately for him we play in the ACC. The team looked unprepared, lethargic at times and made a lot of dumb errors. The defense seemed to play decently enough. I still believe in Brown don’t get me wrong but you draw better recruits to your program when you lose games like this…sadly we haven’t done that enough the past ten years. With a QB like McCord you’d like to think you can win at least 8 games this year. We absolutely suck after the bye I don’t know what it is, players seem unfocused and unprepared

He better be, we burned his redshirt for nothing.
Sometimes it takes guys two years to go from specials to offense e.g. Qadry Ismail. Hopefully, we can find a way to use his speed on more than kick offs.

James is a player that our staff discovered and offered based on pure speed good size and raw athletic ability. He is a diamond in the rough. Getting game action, traveling ect is going to benefit him more than a RS year. Traditionally RS have been used more to allow for physical growth and strength vs football IQ. James is already physically ready.

Need to find a few plays to get him in a game, even if just an end around. Or a pitch to see if he can get outside and make a guy miss.
Right now no one worries about Allen or Willis going for a long gain.
