My Very Low Point as a Die Hard Cuse Basketball Fan

Crouse advertises at half-court "take me to Crouse".

SU basketball proceeds to give a million people heart attacks.

Crouse profits go through the roof.

Crouse funds NIL program with all the excess profits.

Program rebounds.

Circle of life.
You forgot to include Cuse's other sponsors. Eat a steady diet of Taco Bell and Chik Fil A. That will lay the foundation for your Crouse visit.

Pathetic thing is that Orange fans now yearn for a return to a higher level of play: mediocrity.

This team’s level - if it continues in future years - will soon result in SU taking payments early season to visit top programs as a patsy.

Nil or no NiL there’s no reason a team can’t play solid defense. This team plays almost no defense. Players just wave goodbye as their men blow by them. And no one seems
To care.
This is what impressed me with Fran Brown. We get our 6th win and the media and everyone was like oh my god! You got to a bowl game and probably will get 7 wins with UConn your first season How do you feel?

He laughed at them and said who cares, a crappy bowl is not what we are. We are a top 25 playoff team and that is the goal. Everyone in the media and most of us laughed at him and said yea right ok dude, this is Syracuse Football and it's November.

Fran and his coaches and his players weren't laughing then but they will be laughing after they wreck Washington on FOX and get that 10th win. I'm sure they're hurting for our hoops team but I bet some of the older guys that started under Dino are seeing the differences between a coach aiming for mediocrity and a coach aiming for the return to being top program.

Meanwhile Autry is over here in pressers talking about finding a Guard that can dribble and getting the starting lineup wrong before the games. He is aiming his players and himself toward mediocrity or at best trying to even see the bubble. Not a return to what we should be.

I fully admit I was wrong on Autry. We all need to just remember some people are meant to be players and in the background. They aren't meant for The Big Chair. When the dust settles we just have to tell ourselves it wasn't personal, this is business.

The coaching is beyond terrible. Sorry, it's over.
Red will go. Has to happen.

You only THINK about turning the game off. Wow, you are a diehard fan (and I really mean that). I see little sense in watching this garbage and getting my anger/frustration up at all.
I still watch all of every game unless there is something I can’t miss (work commitments, etc.) But it’s definitely been painful.

Guys that drove me crazy like Scoop, Michael Edwards, JB Reefsnyder, Todd Burgan, Frank Howard, etc I would absolutely LOVE to have on this team right about now. Hell, give me a James Theus, Glenn Sekunda, Rock Lloyd, Anthony Harris or Bobby Lazor!
Amen

We have more NIL money than UConn I would bet. They don't fund Football NIL like we do.
Uconns football budget was $100k for this season. There were talks of them potentially upping it to $1M (still laughable) when they were in talks with the B12.

Uconn basketball also doesn’t have to be in bidding wars for kids. Back to back champs and a culture of winning already speaks for itself.

Those players aren't playing for free in hoop. Just not the way of the world. And only stupide UConn football fans think they have a real team. They played 4 real teams this year and lost to all of them.

My kingdom for mookie jones

Diehard since this little kid discovered SU FB and BB in 1970-71 season. I wasn't excited to turn on the game today (I knew)...essentially stopped watching at 26-11. Checked the score a few times after switching to Football and doing work around the house.

We peaked in 2014...it has been downhill since despite the mirage of 3-4 good to great NCAA runs. I see a losing season this year...if Cuse manages to finish 1 or 2 games above .500% it will be the best case scenario this year.

Coach Red needs some answers to get the team to play as a team. The clock is ticking.
I watched the whole sordid thing in a catonic, melancholy state. I was attracted to it in the same way people rubberneck a car crash, curiosity to see the carnage.

Of course they’re not playing for free. Hypothetical numbers but if you are choosing Uconn for like $400k or like Indiana for $600k, Uconn should win that recruiting battle.

I don't think they would unless they were from Ct. 200k is just too much of a difference. I think the UConn men's basketball has a good Nil. Woman as well.

I turned off the Maryland game after 2 quick turnovers and saw that we had one subpar ball handler starting. The lineup made no sense. I didn't see the sense of ruining the day watching a wreck. I'm not even sure if I will watch the next game. Maybe I will start watching again when JJ returns. Of all the disappointments this season, I am just shocked at how bad Carlos is and how a very good college point guard and now coach thought he was the answer at point guard. Also, I know we don't have great options to replace Carlos but Cuffe deserves more minutes just so Carlos isn't rewarded for continuous bad play.

And the starting lineup was literally a mistake.

The frustrating thing is, during the second half of the Texas game, we looked genuinely good. I’m sure everyone thought we had turned a corner and were positioning ourselves to be a bubble team perhaps. Obviously that was completely wrong.

JJ was a lot of that.
