Names to Watch for 2017 Recruiting Cycle

Thanks Jek. Nice update. If we were able to get the majority of those kids, I would have to imagine it would be a Top 25 class.

If we got half of them

Burgess
Fog
Washington
Hill

Just for the heck of it, I'd imagine we'd be all but locked into it. We have really good shots with all of them. If we snag them... Can't even imagine it right now.

Felt like looking ahead to some of the top names to watch for 2017:

Those are some big time names. I'm sure some will fade, while others emerge, but if we can snag at least 2, or 3 of them to go along with Davis, and McDuffie (who I project will have a high rating when it comes time) then we will easily be on our way to one of our best recruiting classes ever. Obvious it's a long long ways away, and guys who have heavy interest now will inevitably get swayed by the bright lights (ya i'm looking at you Chris Clark, and Patrice Rene), but just looking at those names there are a few that I see us being in their top 5 throughout.

Here is who I see us having a legit shot with, and remain a heavy factor in their recruitment.

1. Aaprii Washington - I would go as far as labeling us the favorite for obvious reasons. Still these kids make decisions that are the best for them, so even with his Cousin and friend already committed, I think it's far from a done deal, and will need to be recruited very hard.

2. Kasim Hill - It was inevitable that the big names came calling. That's fine, those are the type of players we want. It seems being the 1st offer means a lot to him, and more importantly seems to be genuinely interested, and impressed with what Syracuse has to offer. As of right now I think we have as good a shot as anyone.

3. Tyshon Fogg - Probably will be my favorite recruit in the class. To go along with McDuffie, he has that elite size, speed, and quickness, we haven't really had at the LB position. I salivate at the thought of McDuffie, and Fogg as LB's in Bullough's blitz heavy, kamakazie defense. He's another I think we will be in on it until the end.

4. Fred Hansard - Obviously there is strong interest for him to visit multiple times from NJ. Ultimaltey I think he chooses to go elsewhere, but I woudln't be shocked to see us in it until the end.

5. Noah Jordan-Williams - He probably won't be a top 300 recruit like the ones listed above, but he is a kid who I ultimately think will be Orange. I'm hoping he blows up just so it will look better when we land him. I see him as a mid to high 3 star recruit.

A couple other 2017 recruits I see (hope) to see Syracuse involved with.

6. CJ Turner - Really really really hope this kid gets an offer. If Darrius Stubbs was good enough to offer and accept a commitment from, then Turner should be as well. Elite route runner, above average quickness, all that's missing is size, but we have seen kids succeed at a high level who were the exact same size as CJ. This kid seems to be all about the Orange, and a local prospect to boot. I'm pulling for this kid (if you couldn't tell by now).

7. Noah DeHond - So what's the mystery here? Apparently DeHond is good enough to receive an offer from Alabama, but Syracuse, the local school, is in wait and see mode. imo DeHond is in the same mold as the top 4 guys, who are elite, 4 star, top 300 talent. He has elite size, and mobility. What more would an OL coach want when molding a prospect? If McGolster, and Ward were goes, then why not DeHond, who probably has more athleticism than both. Another local kid where you have to question what are we holding off for?
