Nassib: "Elements within the team that had to be fixed."

With Ryan saying something, I hope it makes the perps' buttholes pucker and allow them to get on their and contribute.

Once season ends there will be changes

But we really need that sixth win and a extra practices
I could not agree more. This program need the extra practices more than anything else right now.

I think we saw in the WVU game what this staff/team can do when they have two weeks to prepare for an opponent. We will all have a happy Thanksgiving weekend when the Cuse clinches a bowl berth !!!!!

Hopefully they get their sheet together against cincy

as I stated last night it was clear as day that Marrone has lost this team. The mounting personal foul penalties week after week are proof of that. His words are falling on def ears. It was easy to spot last night live and in person I am glad Nassib said something.

the Kids on the sideline acted like they didnt give a dam.

This is the impression I'm getting too and it is very alarming to me.They're tanking and no one really seems to care.
IMO,This is where people are looking for DM to get into some faces and kick some ass. This team needs a serious attitude adjustment

most of the mistakes and miscues come in the form of an inability of players to control their emotions and focus lapses; partly due to this being a young team and partly due to coaching staff's difficulty to devising effective schemes for running-based teams. Also, we only have one reliable WR; after Alec we have no sure handed receivers. We lack a RB with breakaway speed that other teams have; Bailey does his best; but he lacks that extra gear and no one else in house seems to have it either.
On D we came out strong and then USF physically dominated.
Lots of work to do; on both sides of the all.

When Nassib is calling Hay a leader, that's an issue - and shows you Ryan is not taking charge in the locker room

Hay may be a leader ... just not the type of leader they need

heck even Hitler was a leader :) ... oh wait damn ... there goes my shot at having my song played as the intro to Monday Night Football ...

Not to be all TMZ, but watching the replay. After the 4th down incompletion at the start of the 4th quarter, Nassib looks like he's staring down the D walking off the field. Almost as if he heard someone say something to him.

I also saw that Spruill was quoted as saying those 2 failed drives by the offense were what changed the game. Interesting for two reasons. 1. The defensive players aren't the ones usually making comments like that about the offense, and 2. Especially when the defense didn't have a good game.

This stuff isn't uncommon for teams on losing streaks, but if it's really there, someone needs to step up and fix it. 2 games left, they only need to win 1.

Say what you want about Hay but from what I see a kid that plays with passion and he isn't afraid to put his nose in the middle of a teammate needing help.

This is a team game and when or if players are blaming others for not playing well then they really have not looked at themselves with the same conviction. I saw a lot of bad football from SU Friday night and it involved way too many players for any one group to be calling anyone else out.

I agree, Hay has gotten beat plenty, made some dumb 15 yarders, actually a lot, but he has people's back out there, no doubt about it. I am not saying the kid has been great even good, but he will stick his nose in if one his teammates needs it. I like that about him for sure

A number of potential recruits have said that SU has no scholarships left. I wonder if now, as a result of obvious discord and inappropriate behavior reported after the USF game, a larger-than-anticipated number of current players will not receive "invitations" to return next year? That way, SU could take 25 in this class.

I'm sure there are some possibles that could be let go for one reason or another.

+1. I know he's killed us on a couple occasions out there, but Hay does have that mean streak that you want to see in O-Lineman. Hopefully, it rubs off on the rest, except in a more controlled manner. I remember watching John Runyan, and his mean streak got the better of him at times, but it was good to have it out there for the most part. (Disclaimer - I'm not comparing Hay to Runyan in terms of playing ability because that would be absurd. Just comparing that aspect of their game.)

You are talking about the same guy off dancing away from the huddle ... can't go a game without committing a drive killing penalty and behind closed doors (as told to me by a poster who knows someone on the team) has been called a cancer. You can have him on your offensive line if you want, I can't see why he is even in there honestly ... I think Hickey would have supplanted him had he not been injured ... just doesn't sound like they have an alternative on the bench they can plug in at this point.

What about Alexander? Isn't he Hay's back-up? For every good play Hay makes, he makes 10 lousy ones.

I am guessing 2, maybe 3 coaches will be replaced and 5-10 players with eligibility will not be back.

Well at least if that happens we can lock in the "but we're not DEEP enough" defense for another 2 years. Huzzah!

:bang:

The thing is the point of this thread is crazy. I am sure there are a few kids that really could give a damn at this point and are looking forward to the season being over, losing sucks. I am sure there are plenty of kids who have worked their arses off, left everything out there on the field, controlled their partying etc etc. The rest of the team which is probably the majority are right in the middle and the losing is probably making the morale basically at a season low, what direction will the majority of the kids go over the bye week, is the question. I am not blaming anyone for this, I just think this how most football teams with 85 guys are.

Like a couple weeks ago when he got injured playing in the Congressional game. High comedy.
