Nate Kingz Appreciation Thread

This week is going to be filled with H0T Takes after that bizarre game. But Nate Kingz has a great backstory and is rock solid. His defense is phenomenal and he is starting to loosen up on his 3 point shots. He's also crafty when he needs to be.

Scored an efficient 15, with 4 boards, 2 dimes, 0 TO’s.
Plus a steal and a block for good measure.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I love every player on this roster, but Kingz is my favorite.

Hounded is an understatement. Full court pressure. If he plays like this at the 3 for us for 30+ mins we're in good shape.

I think Kiyan as well assuming he uses Houston’s physicality and aggression them to his advantage. This could be a game where Sadiq and a healthy Betsy are needed too if it’s a bad matchup for Donnie.

Ngl the two holdovers are the guys I’m most concerned about. Donnie cannot fade away and has to rebound. JJ’s mental makeup does not seem great right now.

Donnie’s game needs to be more as a 3/4 where he hits the 3 ball , drives and uses that floater posting in the lane. He is just not mentally built to be a physical 4/5. Which means he’s not a 30 mpg guy in certain matchups needing more Sadiq and Betsey.

Yeah, I agree, but I'd also throw in Sadiq as well. He's got some crazy in him and won't be intimidated.

Donnie has his faults, for sure, but I'm mostly just worried about his health. The only thing I'm really concerned with is that limp.

Although we saw Donnie go down and then hesitate before he got up, I didn’t notice his limp. This injury would be so awful for him and for us.

Watching Betsy on the sideline in that boot, I saw him wince a couple times. I would be very surprised if he plays in Vegas. Alas.

Ironically Red son playing for GW I think had an ankle issue that sat him out for a week and apparently he did wear the boot. Missed one game and was back in there most recent game. Hopefully the boot is just precautionary for Betsey which it sounds like it probably is.

Boots are very common these days for ankle sprains. They prevent any type of movement and potential for re-injury. Most here overreacted to that.

I think Red wants to give JJ time to find his game, but it seems like moving Kingz to shooting guard would have several advantages. This would allow you to start Betsey at the 3, which would give us better shooting and rebounding. Not a perfect solution, but it could be a step in the right direction. Thoughts?

George/Kingz/Betsy(White)/Freeman/Kyle our best lineup but it seems we have to play JJ or Anthony at the 2.
