I remember when he was off to a slow start, people were saying he sucked. It’s been awesome watching him play at the level he has been, he’s an incredible player.

We still don’t run anything for him to get open jumpers. Only the curl and drive to the basket. No flair screens, no double screens, no nothing. He’s a tough kid. He needs better defensive footwork. His effort is there, just not his technique.

He’s one of the few that I hope will return. We can do better by him with better coaching!

On a roster full of disappointments, Kingz was one of the few bright spots.

George had too many TOs for most of the season, but he finished strong.

White came on strong his last several outings.

Nobody else met expectations.

Donnie was arguably our best or second best player, but I thought he would be much better than he was.

Kyle is either spectacular or limited - no in between. Started fast - finished slow.

I am shocked at the regression of Starling over the last five games. He was the epitome of tapping out.

Kiyan might have a future IF he gets a LOT stronger.

Betsey just stands around and hopes his man rotates away so he can get off a three point shot.

Souare has no offensive skills.

Why was Zephir even on the team ???

What happened to Fennell ? Did he run out of games before he would lose his shirt ??

In summation, we have a core of mediocrity (Kingz, George, White, Freeman, and Kiyan and maybe Fennell) that is worth bringing back if we could add one or two stars and a decent coach.

I'd be really excited going into next year if we get one of our top coaching candidates and have Kingz and White return. I think I might even prefer White over Donnie. I think our team play would be better.

There's probably a ton of kids around the country who played 4 years and thought their college career was over. If the NCAA adopts the 5 for 5 and it applies immediately it "may" mean these kids can play another year. That behooves the NCAA to move on this very quickly, if they're going to adopt it. Or at least announced whether it would apply to these players.

I second this. From what I’ve heard about how GMac wants to play and the kind of resilient players he’s looking for, Kingz and Sadiq were the first people that came to mind. Although I love Donnie—and I think he’s an extraordinary offensive talent, especially considering what he can do at his size—he was also the first name that popped up as someone who might have to leave. He’s always seemed like a liability on defense, and given how expensive top-end centers are in this market, my assumption is that we may end up signing a role player at center (fingers crossed I’m wrong, which I often am). Because of that, we’ll need as much help as possible from the PF and SF positions. Kingz, Doty, and Sadiq are exactly the kind of players we need there. I think we started very nicely, just have to wait and see how it ends.

This week is going to be filled with H0T Takes after that bizarre game. But Nate Kingz has a great backstory and is rock solid. His defense is phenomenal and he is starting to loosen up on his 3 point shots. He's also crafty when he needs to be.

He was probably our best player last year. Even Will Kyle wore down at the end of the season.

Starling needs to come off the bench . Kingz should be the two. He’s a shooter and Starling can’t shoot

That would have been best, but the honest truth is that George was too turnover prone, and Kingz wasn't a good enough ball handler to beat a press. Too little ball handling and shot creation with those guys as your starting backcourt.

Starling offered the better 2nd ball handler, and the better driver among all 3 of them. That's why they kept playing him, even when he couldn't buy a three, or a foul shot, for that matter.
