NBA scouts starting to see Dion.

I like the Dwayne Wade comparison, and though im not saying that Dion will ever be as good as Wade is but Wade also stayed at Marquette for four years, and was a much different player from his freshmen year to his senior year. If Dion keeps progressing I can see him being a similar player, and if his freshman to sophmore year progress are any indication he will continue to get better.

Once you get labeled as a malcontent, you can't just shed that image with a few good games.

Thats not true. NBA doesnt care. they'll see a kid who was pissed off because he was losing PT to an inferior player.

this board might not get over it, but the rest of the world wont care.

Kemba had no jumper till year 3 either. Dion's nowhere near as fast as Kemba, but he may be stronger.

Kemba didn't have much of 3pt shot last season, he started hot (like Dion) last season but finished at 33%, slightly worse that his soph season but far better than his frosh season. I assume Kemba was not drafted to score from outside in the NBA. Unfortunately, Dion looks to have the same low horizon. Very few career poor shooters improve like KJ did last season, no reason to expect Dion to do it.

Yeah, because the NBA really gives two shits when it comes to attitude.

NBA teams don't care when you're Allen Iverson... They very much care when you're just another undersized 2 guard with some PG potential.

He's not yet Allen Iverson... So his attitude could and would definitely be a factor.

I don't think he is or even was a problem at SU nor do I think he would be a problem if he were to make it to the NBA - but perception is reality.

Actually I think I read that 1 scout said that there were only 2 things that Dion had to improve ... his outside shooting and his attitude.

I wouldn't exactly call a 3-Pt shooting of 28-35 for 32.9% as a freshman a carreer poor shooter. That is actually pretty solid for a freshman even if it doesn't always look the best. I don't see any reason to think he can't improve in this area. A majority of players shooting % from 3 goes up after their freshman seasons.
