It's weird, a few of those are there for durability reasons more than anything.  Bill Walton in 1977 was obviously at the caliber of one of the 50 greatest players of all time, he just couldnt stay on the court.  Ditto Kawhi.

Schayes is an interesting one, it's so hard to tell with guys from that long ago.  The guy was consistently first or second team all NBA in his peak.  This was the first season Butler even made second team all NBA, which seems hard to believe.

You look at the 79 Sonics; Jack Sikma never made all NBA (they only had 2 teams back then).  Gus Williams made a first team in 82, a second team in 1980.  Dennis Johnson made a first team in 81, second in 80, so in the years following the title.  But I'm not sure you could argue they had anyone who was considered one of the ten best players in the league in 1979.

And the 04 Pistons are the poster boys for the team who wins without a superstar.

Though I think a pretty large takeaway from this is Jimmy Butler has been pretty damn underrated.
