A little while ago in a thread about the NNBE's upcoming TV contract negotiations, there was a discussion of where games would be shown if the conference took its "talents" to NBC. While the highest profile games could be shown on NBC, most conference games would likely be aired on NBC Sports.

But, what would NBC do with games that are dogs ("we have to show a conference game this week, but there are no good matchups") or when there's a conflict with a major NBC event (golf, tennis, NFL, etc.)? Well, I found the answer. While ESPN has the "U", "News" and ESPN3 channels that get used occasionally and it may one day have a real "Ocho" (Dodge Ball fans will know the reference), how will NBC be able to handle such conflicts? The answer is NBC's "Ocho", also known as Universal Sports. Whereas the Tour de France is shown on NBC Sports, the Vuelta is relegated to Universal Sports. If people have trouble finding NBC Sports, just think how much fun they'll have trying to find Universal Sports only to find out that they don't receive it.

For details, see Universal Sports.
