NC State Game Thread...

I dont get why that shouldnt be reviewable. I mean cmon. Give them free 7!!

With a call that bad, he is clearly auditioning for an NFL ref job.

That ref wasn't even in position to make that call. Just horrible.

The pass interference was legit. They called it on Franklin about 10 yards off the line in the middle of the field when he absolutely blasted the tight end before the throw. It wasn't on the CB.

Mah ref w best view called it but hes clearly not good at his job

I thought the trailing ref threw it.

You can't make a dogsh!t call like that on 4th down unless you're 100% sure. There's no way.

He had a bad angle. It's the one he has to have because he has the responsibility of the feet on the sidelines, but it put the receiver in the way of seeing any contact. All he saw was the arm extended and assumed there was contact. Terrible flag.

Should have been illegal contact then

That makes more sense.

Unreal. They just gave 7 points to them. This could change the whole game. Sickening.

You and the ref seeing eye to eye on that one. Everyone else must be wrong.

Franklin? He was the one in man to man coverage. No way it could have been him. That's the player they called in on...pretty sure the back judge called it too.

Missed 2 obvious holds right in front of me, 3rd and long before the PI and the 9 yard run shortly before the TD. Babers was on the field pissed about the first missed call. Both were in front of ref and at the point of attack.

Yeah he earned it but there was a wavering on whether to give him one
We wish we were here next semester," the two coaches told the junior-college transfer who had been on campus less than a year, "because you'd be on scholarship."

That decision now rests with Dino Babers, who replaced Shafer after he was fired with one year left on his contract.

And it means Mahoney will have to prove he's worthy of a scholarship all over again. A junior, Mahoney likely faces an uphill battle to win the starting job with Dungey back in good health, but as last year proved, he should never count himself out of the picture.

Mahoney's scholarship chances hinge on availability. NCAA rules allow a team to carry 85 scholarship players on the roster. Syracuse is currently under that limit, even with recent additions such as JUCO cornerback Michael Moore and graduate transfer Gabe Sherrod.

Mahoney said Babers told each walk-on they'll have a chance to earn a scholarship.

"He's not lying about that," Mahoney said. "If you're willing to put your body on the line and win some games, he'll reward you."

Mahoney did so last season.

But under a new set of eyes evaluating him, he'll have to do so once again.

"If I'm thinking about a scholarship, I'm probably not thinking about what I need to do on the field," Mahoney said. "For me, it's more if I can compete on the field and show what I can do on the field, the scholarship will just naturally come."

I noticed the one on the run too. It was very blatant.

exactly! that article is just proving everyone's point - and oh by the way, he was wrong on his initial post where he still thought Mahoney wasn't on scholarship.
