mother of mercy. Tough to swallow.

Moneyline opens at Syracuse +645 which indicates a 13% chance of winning outright.

On neutral field Vegas is saying NC State would be +14. Sorry but NC State doesn't have 14 points more talent on its team than we do. Unbelievable how little respect there is for Syracuse in the Vegas.

I'm not going to pile on - it would be so easy to do so. +17 against NCSt. Just think about that for a second.

The crazy, or maybe not, part of that line is it's after playing the #1 team in the country really well. We could have won that game, yet the line is -17 this week.

Anybody who legitimately thinks we are winning this game could make a lot of money if they bet SU on the moneyline. +635 is insane value if we can actually win this game. I mean NC State is not that good. They beat 4 duds in the OOC, Wake Forest and Boston College. They lost to Louisville at home and mediocre Va. Tech on the road.
We should not be 17 point underdogs to this team. Vegas is making people lay a lot to bet against us. Honestly, if I were betting I would take the 17 points. I could see this being 34-24 loss. I thought the line would be about 11.

I realize that NC State should be favored in this game. But that line is ridiculously high. NC State has played virtually no one, and when they've played decent teams, they've lost. They've beaten Troy, Eastern Kentucky, Old Dominion, South Alabama, Wake Forest, and BC. Yes, that's six wins. But man...that's not exactly a murderer's row of victories. I firmly believe we'll have those same two wins over Wake and BC on our resume.

Should they be favored? Of course. But I fully expected this to be maybe in the 7-10 range, not 17.

I'd LOVE to jump on the first half line b/c we will i'm sure come out strong and then lose second half.

I'd take the first half line and lay some on the money line. 6 to 1 odds is good value.

I am guessing it's our horrid road performance and the 575 yards per game we have been giving up regularly. Oh, and McDonald gets to act like Jason Vorhees an get revenge on us :0

Agreed. But I painfully learned a life lesson many years ago - never bet on your alma mater. Only on games you don't give a d*** about.

If I were a gambling man, I would put $55 on the spread and $50 on the money line.

But of course, I am a retired gambling man.

Slow down Willie Boy, you're heart's gonna give right out on you. It's true.

Passionate betting like this is what Vegas is betting on :)

I don't bet on SU games. I do a lot of NFL teases with my Patriots though and they have won a lot for me.

I am just saying if you honestly think SU wins this game the money line bet is insane value. I think we can cover 17 if I was betting. I don't want to see SU losing by more than 17 to this crap team or we really are awful.

Anyone acting surprised hasn't been paying attention. We haven't won a road game since Wake Forest, Oct 18th, 2014. We have exactly 4 road victories in Shafer's entire coaching career.
NC State, Maryland-2013
Wake Forest, Central Michigan- 2014
neutral site game vs. Minnesota was a good win though.

Not sure that was a "passionate bet" analysis.

I would take SU and the +17 IF I was betting this game...with that said if this game Saturday vs NC State turns out to be like the game in Louisville a couple weeks back, I wouldn't be shocked in the least

SU is not good on the road and hasn't put together a back to back good showing in seemingly forever. I see this one looking like the whole team and the coaching staff has been on a week long bender when they step out on the field Saturday.
