It is crazy that teams don't press us from the jump. They'd build an easy lead and could reapply if needed.
shhhhhhhh

I’ve been thinking that for a long time. No need to let any grad student/employee from a rival who has been tasked with following us to present that idea as his own.

To be fair, Carlos has an assist:turnover ratio of close to 2:1, which is fine, and (full disclosue) he was nice to me when I was at the Melo center in October.

And it isn’t as though the rest of the starters are all that great when the press is on, but…

I’d press 40 minutes against us.

I’ll take the win. There have been too few of them this year. Watching JJ shot-put free throws is something. He is a mental wreck out there sometimes. I’d rather have a dude in a recliner shoot them.

Eddie’s gather and slam when NCState was making a run felt like it took the air out of them.

Officiating was….odd. Both teams got hosed on some inconsistent whistles.

There isn’t a talent on the floor tonight that is a first or second scoring option on a top 25 team.

Gotta point who can’t point, a shooting guard that can’t shoot, and a center that can’t protect the rim (though Eddie played well tonight).

Good effort however.

Crowd was 7k max - that’s a really important number for the AD.

The crowd looked really really bad on TV.

The other thing that we do that makes the game hard for us is we try to play opposite to modern basketball. We try to play inside out and don't shoot a ton of threes, which is opposite of the way the game is played today. It will always put you at a crazy disadvantage when you are constantly getting beat at the 3 point line.
I mean... yes but also we don't really have good shooters.

Well sort of, but the design of the team wasn't to have no shooters it was to play inside out. That was the entire point of bringing in Eddie. That is opposite of the way modern basketball is played, but that is what we look to do every time down the court. I do agree that is probably the way we have to play now, but only that started with Red's roster construction.

I was there and maybe there were 10,000 people in actual seats.
My guess is less than half of the season ticket holders Showed up.
I show up due to a sense of loyalty and my own cheapness.
i refuse to let tickets that I paid for sit empty,

it was a good game though.
Glad I went.

I counted row by row when I got there between sections 101-105. Those areas alone probabhad only 1000 fans. It was 6-7k there and nowhere close to 10k.

Good performance. Home vs a bad team though. I guess if we beat good teams in the ACCT it's worth saving those wins for then.

Still can't believe NIT State went on that run last year.

I'll give him credit for that time out when they put on the press and cut our 16 point lead to 8. Probably his best time out of the year. Finally. We actually handled the press reasonably well, even if Carlos did run to the corner a few times for the inbounds.
Yeah, Red got them straightened out Pronto. Probably stayed off a devastating loss.

We have some talent, it isn't top quarter of the ACC good, but it is decent. But, our coaching is terrible. So, improving the roster, something I am confident we can do with Alex Kline on board, won't make much of a difference.
The more I’ve watched this team this year, the more I think Autry deserves a medal if they even make the ACC tournament. Our talent is decent? What in Gods name team have you been watching?

He got Carlos right back in the game during the timeout. I’d rather have Carlos handle against the press than JJ jumping up in the air to trying and find someone to pass to.

Very happy for the guys! Its been a tough year and they're still fighting.
It’s amazing how many here find it so hard to give these credit for anything. For Red too. They came out tonight and played pretty consistent through the entire game. Kudos to Chris tonight. He played good defense and fought to get over every screen.

Yep. So Because of my job I had access to actual turnstile counts for a period of time a few years ago.

I would laugh because people here were always posting estimates of crowd sizes at that time and almost universally, they would overestimate by large percentages.

Actual turnstile counts of 26k, and people here would estimate 33-38k. These were mostly fb games…but same with hoops. If I didn’t see the numbers myself, I would have estimated more as well. It’s deceiving.

If you put 15k actual fannies in the seats the dome, people would swear there was 20-23k. It’s even worse now because the same filled “visual space” is actually fewer people than it used to be.

The only poster that consistently was echoing what I was seeing was “unknownorange”? Who I assumed works/worked at the dome or somehow had access to the counts as well. (Sorry if I outed you). Because he/she was spot on.

I was at the Louisville game earlier this season and the crowd was similar in size to what I saw tonight. Maybe a few hundred more.

Attendance this year is gergian.

They don't fit together, but we have some players. They just have no coaching.
