The assistant coach route is risky. It went well for Tommy Lloyd at Arizona, but he was as widely respected in CBB for helping Few build Gonzaga and Arizona has crazy resources for basketball. First year returns on Jai Lucas at Miami have been decent too.

First year Jim Boeheim didn’t do too shabby.Went to Louisville and Freedom hall where they knocked off a very good Louisville team- won the ECAC to get a birth in the NCAA tournament where Louie and Bouie spanked Ernie and Bernie.Charlotte and Cornbread Maxwell did beat us pretty good but not a bad start to JB’s career.

Norlander is one of the laziest writers out there and another who you can tell uses AI to draft stuff for him. Those hanging on that article I don’t understand. He’s about just as useless as those still doing articles for sporting news.

Small point - game went to overtime. They didn't really "spank" Tennessee.
