NCAA 1st Round Games for Fri March 17

Not being able to break a terrible press killed Drake. Dribbled directly into the trap on multiple occasions.
They had a couple timeouts left they could have used earlier, too. No 12 -5 upset??

I typically don't let my bracket dictate anything I am cheering for in many games.
But right now I sort of am.

Bet365 has a free bracket challenge for its members, that pays some pretty nice prizes. Right now I am in 40th place with 24 out of 28, with all my elite 8 still intact. (Leader has 26). So until I fall out of it (which will probably happen tomorrow) I may cheer for all my elite 8 moving forward... which I typically would never do,

I'm trying to figure out how Spike Lee (an experienced film maker), Samuel L Jackson (an experienced actor) and Charles Barkley (a somewhat humorous guy) can get together and make commercials that are not remotely funny.

Some great tip ins on back to back possessions in this FAU Memphis game. (one for each team)

Terrible call by the refs not to give Memphis the timeout -- granted Memphis did it to themselves by turning it over earlier.

I had Memphis in my brackets and I doing quite strongly right now so that call irked me!

Nearly impossible to reward a TO in that situation. Replay is slowed down making it seem like he has possession longer than he did. It was a loose ball scramble. 99 out of 100 of those get called a tie up.

The jinx already started. With the Memphis loss, I fell from #40 to #157... so from a prize of $300 to $100 (not bad for a free contest) I imagine by next week I will be fighting to stay in the 2501-5000 range to see if I get $1 or not.

By tomorrow night I suspect I will have the freedom to cheer for whomever I want as I will be out of it.

Agree in terms of the time out request and the time up were fairly bang bang, and was visible only on replay.

But Memphis waited a bit too long to ask for the timeout - there was a clear opportunity there to get it done. it wasn't much of a contested scramble. Memphis came away with it fairly easily, and I wonder if that is why they waited a little too long to ask for the TO.

Should’ve known better than to believe in purdue… centers don’t do jack in the tournament

Size is everything in the conference tournaments teams are playing on consecutive days and often seeing each other for the third time that season.

Means squat in the NCAAs shot making D and general clutch play avoiding long droughts and answering runs is what wins.

So bummed about Drake and ASU collapses had a bad day yesterday but was perfect today after USC other than those two would be up huge if they hadn’t fallen apart so awfully at the end.

Purdue at least had the decency to be losing the entire game they didn’t have it in the bag and then choke it away at the end like UVA.

Insane FDU had no business in the Dance either Merrimack being banned for not being D1 long enough is complete bs but what a game by them. I actually decided to go watch the two play with a bid on the line when I saw it was at Merrimack but backed out when seeing it wasn’t for a bid.

The NCAA must hate this and wish it was 68 high majors and Purdue was slugging it out with a .500 UNC team instead.
