Gonzaga vs Georgia

First time I've seen an SEC team play this year. I know Gonz is a good team but GA just didn't look like much. I assume GA is just a middling SEC team, so not too much of reflection on the conference.

Our boy Leffew didn't start, didn't look like much, and had his shorts on backwards - I'm pretty sure we didn't miss out on that one.

On the other hand, Khalif Battle looked at least as good as Tyus - he could have helped us win a few more games this year.

I think there have been a few other programs in recent years that did that as well (on men's side), but what is remarkable about UCSD is they could have easily been an 11 seed. Those other teams are typically the 14/15/16 seed type teams. They never were as close to as good as UCSD upon becoming eligible.

I think it is a silly rule that programs aren’t immediately eligible to qualify for the tourney after moving up from D2

There was lots of statistics analysis that suggested a relatively chalky first-round.

We love the underdog but high seeds will create excellent later round games.

Already staring down Houston-Zags, BYU-Wisky, Texas A&M-Michigan, and probably Arkansas-SJU on Saturday.

Why is there such a lack of stardom/top level players in CBB lately? None of these teams impresses me. Even looking at recent NBA drafts, the first ten/fifteen players selected are guys who average like 13-18ppg. “Potential.”

Watching St J now and there aren’t any NBA guys on this top ten team. KaDary?

All of the teams look like 90s D2 teams. Am I crazy? There is so much money in the NBA, so it’s not like great athletes are choosing other sports.
