NCAA 2nd Round Games for Sunday March 21

There is no way that I would rather matchup with Illinois than Loyola. Illinois’ ceiling would have been 90 points with Cockburn dropping 30 and 15. Loyola’s is a 65-55 game.

All the isolation got slowed down against a the only big strong guy Loyola had on the court. Looked to me like Loyola held illinois to one three point attempt the second half. Helped loyola to play the same half twice.

Agreed with that. guess my point is I’d rather play Okla state where our zone has been known to take out superstars

...if we were someone to get to that point. which is unlikely...probably impossible.
I don’t want to be the jinx

You can beat Man. But you cannot beat God.

Agreed. Loyola bullied a stacked team full of NBA prospects.
We can’t bully. We confuse teams and it works when they have no clue how to play against us.

When you look at program stability, having "been there" and results, the IL result shouldn't be that surprising in the bigger picture. Ohio St was more surprising to me. Other upsets fall in line when you look at TX too.

IL was 21-10 last year and 12-21 the year before. That is a big jump a lot of it talent related but success isn't common with that program.

For that reason Iowa is another team that it wouldn't shock me to see go down early. The better more experienced programs generally do better than those catching lightning in a bottle. We always have surprises but overall you will find high seeded teams with mediocre to bad seasons nearby in the past crash earlier.

101 years old and even attending a basketball game - pretty special.
Of course, it's special. It's just so overdone. Maybe there's another story to tell about Loyola that may involve one of the players, or the coach.
