NCAA Elite Eight Games for Sat March 29

Sears has been off except for the game the other night. He was 5-35 from three leading up to that game. Last night was more indicative of the way he’s been shooting the three. Alabama is also not a good defensive team. Duke must have had ten dunks last night.
And several uncontested layups. Bama looked like SU on D for a few possessions. No switch and an open lane to the hoop.

In his free time Scheyer said he likes to play games, especially chess, and likes games with winners and losers.

He's clearly a competitive freak (saying that in a good way) and Duke seems to have found another 30-year gem.
I agree that I love his competitive spirit but Duke will always get the best players. Put Scheyer on Baylor and see how he does. Probably well, but he’s got a built in advantage.

Scheyer was already considered a recruiting guru for Coach K as an assistant though. I’m more impressed with his coaching, his ability to motivate and mesh so much talent to play so selflessly as a team not just on offense but defense too.

Me too. I'll also say K wouldn't have gotten this team to the Final Four.

If allowed to play Houston can lock down Duke. But we all know Houston will get the SU 2012 regional final whistle on Saturday.

Is this a serious question? I hope not

Well, being on a championship team really only counts if you were a contributor. Now, Maliq has been hurt. But he hasn't played a big role on this team. He's averaged 2 points and 4 rebounds a game. When they make a video of their Championship Season (if they win), he will hardly be in it. He didn't have any big moments. He was a passenger on this team, not part of its core. That's how I see it. What does he have for memories, or to brag on to his grandkids, if all he got was a ring.

Even though Brown is playing with one arm, and Duke has 2 stud post players, the head coach still is finding a few minutes for Maliq. So Scheyer thinks Brown has some value to his team, and his opinion is more informed than any of us.

Duke has a lot more fire power than Tennessee. Duke has shooters. The Vols had one. Duke’s overall size will cause Houston problems too. Duke by at least ten.

IMO, it counts even if you're the team manager. You work out, you practice, you do everything the rest of the team does. You are contributing.

Duke was very impressive defensively in that last game.

He contributed. Before he got hurt he played 16mpg. He did a little of everything. Was even 2nd on the team in spg behind Flagg. Scheyer even said he’s never seen a kid tip the ball as much, which they track. In the all ACC voting he finished 3rd for the 6th man award and finished 5th for DPOY. He’ll have memories.

Maliq Brown: 2.5 pts / 3.8 rebs / 16.5 mins

Jeremy McNeil: 3.3 pts / 4.2 rebs / 18.8 mins

Do you think McNeil wasn't a contributor? Because we don't win without him.

I'm not hating on Maliq. For me, I would have preferred to be a more important part of the team. It's a terrific degree. Great life choice.

I just don't see Michigan State having a run in them. Their defense has been tough but they just don't seem to score very easily and there are only about 7 minutes left.

Yeah when they are giving your guards 10 foot wide open jumpers and you refuse to take them it’s hard to score.
