NCAA First Round Games Thread for Thurs Mar 19

Those two missed dunks, followed by the Duke run out are going to be a critical turn in this game. Lots of momentum shifting.
100%. Instantly became a 11 point lead instead of 15. All the momentum shifted.

Once the lead started slipping, they probably started getting nerves instead of adrenalin. That might be it for Siena since they are playing no subs.

Siena is in trouble. Need to find some buckets and start getting stops again, but this feels like a Duke run out to a 15-20 point win at this point.

Like Agent Smith says it is inevitable. Wouldn’t be surprised if ends up covering the -27.5

That last set reminded me of what we've been seeing at the dome the last few years... a lot of dribble handoffs at the top of the key leading to a panic 3 from the wing.

Siena needs to solve the zone... but that's easier said than done when the zone is played by elite athletes

Those two missed dunks were definitely a momentum killer. Fatigue is starting to set in. Going to the 3-2 zone saved Duke. For now, anyway.

I wish they replayed the second one from a better angle - looked like his arm got raked, but couldn't tell for certain.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Duke ends up winning this by double figures similar to the 2003 SU Oklahoma State game how it was a big swing in the other direction.

Is it just me or on that replay did it look like Sarr reached out and tried to grab Doty?

Yeah, sometimes you gotta really sell it and beg for the review. It seemed like Saar slipped and pulled the shorts and took his legs out. Not sure because you slip you get to do all that. lol
