I believe you receive more units for a later round game.

You definitely receive more as you advance through the tournament AND we can expect to never see the money we EARN during the 2012 tournament. The tournament proceeds, as far as I know and remember, go to the Big East to be redistributed throughout the league. Further, in the past, those payments did not occur in the year in which they were earned, but at a later date.

lawsuit! we can use our share of the earning to go towards the buy-out ... I think a nice title run should trim some of the cost off

Consideration for all this must be in the legal paperwork involved in us leaving the conference. I refuse to believe it won't be handled properly. But even if it isn't, I understand that as soon as we get to the ACC, the university will have dump trunks full of gold lined up on Marshall Street waiting to drop of their payloads. Or something.
