NCAA Sweet Sixteen Games Thread for Thurs Mar 26

Illinois essentially playing/fielding like a Euro pro team. Arizona similar. Unreal shift in how to attack the tourney. Feel like it’s going to be a significant trend going forward (I know internationals were already a huge part of modern roster construction but this year feels very different to me at least).

No idea on what the financial numbers are for these guys

I was there. Sophomore year in college. My dad offered spring break. I asked him to take me the the SU tournament game.

Ouch. Tourney games are binary. Euphoria or despair.

Good Dad tho...

My guess is the memory of the bonding remains well after the taste of the loss fades into oblivion...

Arizona looked crazy good last night! I don't think anyone beats them if they can play like that.

I wonder about the cost of the foreign player too. They dominate the NBA. Huge impact on college game, SU needs to get in that game. I know Marek, Fennell etc. I mean into it.

GMac did mention in one of the articles yesterday that overseas players was going to be a critical part of what he wanted out of his GM.

Yeah, but I watched for the entertainment, very good, close games. Hard fought. Solid entertainment if you don't have a dog in the fight. UCONN v. Duke you can look at it that you can't win but you also can't lose. Until we are relevant again (November, 2026) I will watch for entertainment value. I don't gamble so I hope for close, hard fought games.
