NCAA Tournament Selection Discussion - Bubble Talk, ACC Teams, #1 Seeds, whatever you want to say

Current standings per Matrix only for brackets updated March 15.

Right now it would be 6 teams for 3 spots, with a pretty firm 3 consensus wise.
(out of 40)
SMU 39
Miami 38
Texas 36
---------
San Diego St 3
Auburn 2
Oklahoma 1

The clean consensus will only change if VCU loses today. Otherwise, it could be a clean 100% match between the matrix and the committee, which has happened in years where the consensus is clear.

USF is not on this list because they are the at-large at the moment. I suppose they could get in on a few brackets if they did lose today. They are clearly ahead of the other 1 bid leagues on the matrix that are on the 12 line (Akron etc). But nobody on the matrix has them as anything different than a 11 seed, so it would be hard for them with a loss today.

Since we all know the committee are lazy phlucks I bet they have the bracket already done and are not working today. The B1G and SEC results mean nothing to them. There's four variations all locked in regarding the AAC and A10. A. The one where VCU and USF win today. B. The one with a Dayton and USF win. C. The one with a VCU and Wichita St win. D. The one with a Dayton and Wichita St win.

They are always done by Sunday and have contingency scenarios. Everything they really needed to know around the bubble was figured out yesterday

I'll be that nerd.
Siena as a projected 15/16, could only play in one of the 16/16 games.
If USF gets in it will probably need to be an auto-bid, so they wouldn't be in a play in game.
Your nerd speak went right over my head. Think I’m missing a couple facts here.

Now I think I understand. USF is too high on the rankings to play Siena in the first four.

Format: The "First Four" features eight teams: the four lowest-seeded automatic qualifiers and the four lowest-seeded at-large teams.

I was afraid you meant it the other way.

I’m going to be tempted to pick a Final Four 4 run for Arkansas. Darius Acuff looks like he could be one of those guys that will put his team on his back.

That is correct.

Lazy? Sounds smart to me. I spent my entire career front-loading my work week so I could have an easy friday. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If this Purdue result holds up you’ll hear a lot of bitching about their seed from boilermaker fans who don’t understand their seed was set Saturday night and this title game means nothing

Yale Penn is amazing. Power on penn has 40 and forced OT

Ridiculous not to foul.
I wish I had listened to Ringer podcast network podcaster and Penn grad Raheem Palmer who said take a flier on Penn 6-1 to win the Ivy tournament

That is correct.
