BUFFALO - I don't really see any threats for losing the pod seed to a team in the Northeast. The risk could come from the Big 10 and other teams in the eastern middle of the country - but that would only be a threat if we are a 4 seed or possibly a 3 seed (although losing Buffalo with a 3 seed is unlikely as well). If we are a 4 seed we are being sent out West because the NCAA insists on the two western PODS.
MSG - As a 1 seed there is still some scenarios where we do not play in MSG, but its unlikely. Say we are #4 on the s-curve - there is a possibility a #3 on the s curve team Big 10 team, for example Ohio St or Michigan St, that would play be closest to Indianapolis, gets bumped by another team. They have the right to MSG rather than us. But overall with a #1 seed its unlikely we are not in the East. As per above, I don't see any eastern threats to be 1 seeds above us (other than Duke) .
If we are a 2 seed behind Duke, we are not likely getting in MSG, as Duke should be in the East.
As a 3 seed or 4 seed it becomes a crapshoot really. The committee cant put top 3 teams in each conference in same bracket, so the 3 line is often just fit the pieces in a puzzle.
