i wonder if it would have been much lower even if we had won last week. maybe -10

I am kind of surprised actually that it isn't higher. I still think we can win.

-13 seems reasonable. I think we can certainly win, but a 35-21 type loss seems like the most plausible scenario.

However, if every critical juncture goes against us and we lose the turnover battle (like what happened against Maryland), we don't have a chance.

We have to make catches, make field goals that high school kickers are expected to make, not throw catastrophic interceptions, and not get stupid penalties. ND is better than us, but not by THAT much.

after ND 's lack of impressive beating of Purdue im not surprised its only 13

Bet quick, because I think that's going up.

You're betting ND?

I'm not rooting for ND. But if my money were on the line, yes, ND to win by at least 13.

Two weeks off, better talent, better staff. I didn't think we'd be within 2 TDs even before the Md game.

I'd love to be wrong. And I don't like betting against SU so I'm keeping my money in my pocket.

38-21 type game 690West ... and I hate typing that
I hear ya. We were 19 point dogs I think in the GROB lame duck victory in south bend in 2008. I wonder if there will be snowballs flying at players this weekend. Ha

Not sure exactly how good ND is yet since they haven't been tested. Michigan is probably a 7-5/6-6 team or worse. Purdue is very bad, and they struggled for a bit in that game. We're clear underdogs but I don't think this game is as difficult as FSU or @ Clemson

they played a rice team that is giving up 6 yds a carry ,500 yds a game , and lost to old dominion.
they beat mich, even game but mich had 4 To's
they beat purdue by less then CMU

but they are winning the turnover battle by a huge amount, and Golson is tough to tackle. the RB avg 3.5 a carry and they have a couple long td passes off scramble plays.

its at -11 now

Saturday is the exact sort of game that sharps don't overreact to, if they even react at all. Basically all of the "critical juncture" plays Eric mentioned which are somewhat flukey or at least aren't a great predictor of future events.

That's the good news anyway. The flip side is that teams who are -1.5 vs Maryland at home are not any good in the first place.

ACC refs will call a fair game , unlike B1G refs last Saturday.

That line seems at least three points light. It is true, as others have mentioned, that ND hasn't played anybody tough but neither has SU. ND's team speed is significantly greater than SU's and the coaching and QB match-ups are heavily in ND's favor. Plus they have had two weeks to prepare.
