TEAM STATS

Possession

Rebounding
(Add each team’s offensive rebounds to their opponent’s defensive rebounds. Then figure the offensive rebounds as a percentage of that)
We rebounded 9 of our 32 misses = 28.1%
They rebounded 15 of their 40 misses = 37.5%

Effective Offensive Rebounding
(Divide second chance points by the offensive rebounds)
We got 7 points on 9 O-Rebs = 0.778 points/O-reb
They got 11 points on 15 O-Rebs = 0.733 points/O-reb

Unforced Turnovers
(Total turnovers – the other team’s steals = unforced turnovers)
We had 13 turnovers – 4 steals = 9 unforced
They had 18 turnovers – 12 steals = 6 unforced

Points per Takeaway
(Points off turnovers divided by the number of turnovers the other team had)
We had 25 points from 18 takeaways = 1.389 points/takeaway
They had 5 points from 13 takeaways = 0.385 points/takeaway

Unsettled Situations
(Effective offensive rebounding + Points per Takeaway: [Second Chance Point + Points off Turnovers] divided by [Offensive Rebounds + Opposition Turnovers)
We had 32 points in 27 unsettled situations = 1.185 points
They had 16 points in 28 unsettled situations = 0.571 points

Manufactured Possessions

They assisted 12 of their 18 field goals = 67.7%

Team Offensive Possession Efficiency
(Possessions: Field goals attempted - offensive rebounds + turnovers + 47.5% of free throws attempted. Efficiency is total points divided by possessions)
We scored 67 points in 66 possessions = 1.015 points/ possession
They scored 56 points in 67 possessions = 0.836 points/possession

It was a 133 possession game.

Team Shooting Efficiency

(Points minus missed field goals and free throws)

We scored 67 points, missed 31 field goals and 4 missed free throws = net 32

(Points scored divided by potential points scored if we’d made every shot)

We scored 67 on 34 two point attempts, 19 three point attempts and 20 free throw attempts = 67 of a possible 145 points = 46.2% of possible points scored.

Fouls

(Two point shots and free throws attempted per times fouled.)
We attempted 34 two point shots, attempted 20 free throws and were fouled 16 times = 2.125; 1.25
They attempted 31 two point shots, attempted 19 free throws and were fouled 20 times = 1.55; 0.95
They were more likely to get calls when attempting two point shots but we got more free throws per foul.

Comments

- We had three different players have minus net points in this game. Two of them didn’t play much but that’s still too many. They would have played more if their play was adequate.

- Stat of the game: we had 25 points on 18 takeaways and they had only 5 on 13. That’s a difference of a point per takeaway, (we scored a point more when we got the ball than they did when they got the ball).

- Normally we out-score teams from the Twilight Zone, often by a substantial margin. But this game was 0-6 in that stat.

- You want ugly? Try 22 assists and 31 turnovers.
