(Add each team’s offensive rebounds to their opponent’s defensive rebounds. Then figure the offensive rebounds as a percentage of that)
We rebounded 18 of our 42 misses = 42.9%
They rebounded 6 of their 34 misses = 17.6%

Effective Offensive Rebounding
(Divide second chance points by the offensive rebounds)
We got 15 points on 18 O-Rebs = 0.883 points/O-reb
They got 4 points on 6 O-Rebs = 0.667 points/O-reb

Unforced Turnovers
(Total turnovers – the other team’s steals = unforced turnovers)
We had 9 turnovers – 4 steals = 5 unforced
They had 16 turnovers – 13 steals = 3 unforced

Points per Takeaway
(Points off turnovers divided by the number of turnovers the other team had)
We had 21 points from 16 takeaways = 1.3125 points/takeaway
They had 10 points from 9 takeaways = 1.1111 points/takeaway

Unsettled Situations
(Effective offensive rebounding + Points per Takeaway: [Second Chance Point + Points off Turnovers] divided by [Offensive Rebounds + Opposition Turnovers)
We had 36 points in 34 unsettled situations = 1.133 points
They had 14 points in 15 unsettled situations = 1.357 points

Manufactured Possessions
(One teams rebounds + the other team’s turnovers)

(PIP= points in the paint, POP = points outside the paint, which is total points – PIP –free throws made, TREY: points from three point shots, TZ= Twilight Zone, which is POP – TREY, two point jumpers from outside the paint, FBP = fast break points POTO= points off turnovers)
We had 34 PIP, 25 POP, 21 TREY, 4 TZ, 21 POTO, 12 FBP
They had 8 PIP, 40 POP, 36 TREY, 4 TZ, 10 POTO, 5 FBP

Fast Break Percentage
(FBP/(defensive rebounds + blocks + steals)
We scored 12 FBP in 34 opportunities (35.3%)
They scored 5 FBP in 11 opportunities (45.5%)

First Chance/Second Chance
(FCP is First Chance Points, which is total points - second chance points – fast break points – free throws made. SCP is second chance points.)
We had 32 FCP and 15 SCP
They had 39 FCP and 4 SCP

Last Possessions
(Points scored on the last full possession of a half, a game or an overtime period.)
We scored 1 points
They scored 2 points

(Total points – bench points = starters points)
Our starters scored 61 points and our bench scored 16 points

(The percentage of a team’s baskets that were assisted)
We assisted 13 of our 26 field goals = 50.0%
They assisted 14 of their 18 field goals = 77.8%

Team Offensive Possession Efficiency
(Possessions: Field goals attempted - offensive rebounds + turnovers + 47.5% of free throws attempted. Efficiency is total points divided by possessions)
We scored 77 points in 65 possessions = 1.185 points/ possession
They scored 56 points in 66 possessions = 0.848 points/possession
It was a 131 possession game.

Team Shooting Efficiency

(Points minus missed field goals and free throws)

We scored 77 points, missed 34 field goals and 12 missed free throws = net 31
They scored 56 points, missed 33 field goals and 2 missed free throws = net 21

(Points scored divided by potential points scored if we’d made every shot)

We scored 77 on 40 two point attempts, 20 three point attempts and 30 free throw attempts = 77 of a possible 170 points = 45.3% of possible points scored.
They scored 56 on 11 two point attempts, 40 three point attempts and 10 free throw attempts = 56 of a possible 152 points = 36.8% of possible points scored.

Breakdown by Quarters
(Points scored between the beginning of the game and the 10 minute mark of the first half, then halftime, then the 10 minute mark of the second half, the end of regulation and then overtime of there was one)

14-16, 21-16, 28-14, 14-10

(Two point shots and free throws attempted per times fouled.)
We attempted 40 two point shots, attempted 30 free throws and were fouled 20 times = 2.00; 1.50
They attempted 11 two point shots, attempted 10 free throws and were fouled 14 times = 0.79; 0.71; 1.04
They were more likely to get calls when attempting two point shots but we got more free throws out of it when we were fouled.

- Buddy Boeheim presently has -8 net points in 79 minutes of play. Most of his value is in his shooting and that’s been an extreme negative: He’s 3 for 29 from the field and 2 for 19 from the arc. If he doesn’t turn it around, he’s going to win up glued to Daddy’s bench. I don’t which is tougher”: playing badly for your father’s; team or not playing at all.

- We had 19 more unsettled situations and scored 22 more points off of them – and won the game by 21 points.

- It didn’t matter in this game but we are going to lose some games if we miss 12 free throws again as we did tonight.

- The team that attempted 40 two point shots beat the team that attempted 40 three point shots by 21 points.
The work you do and the goodies you allow us to have is awesome, SWC. Many thanks!

I guess you are thankful for me? Back at ya!
