Comments:
- Tyler Lydon led in net points and offensive efficiency and was the O-DOG. It was his third “hat trick” this season. He did it against South Carolina and Georgetown, too. This is the first time it got us a win.
- If you combine points off turnovers and second chance points, you get a picture of how teams were respond to unsettled situations. Against St. John’s we had 9 points off 9 takeaways and 16 second chance points off of 21 offensive rebound for 25 points in 30 situations. St. John’s had 43 points in 30 situations. In this game we had 37 points in 27 situations. Cornell had 15 in 16.
- It’s amazing that Cornell out-scored us in initial sets, 33-48. But they got virtually nothing from the fast break, the foul line and second chance opportunities. You’ve got to think our up-coming opponents will be more productive in those areas.
