Comments:
- We finally won the rebounding battle after losing it 6 times in a row.
- Strange stat: EMU had 15 second chance points to our 8. It’s probably because they were missing a lot more shots (43) than we did (26).
- We did a much better job of taking advantage of turnovers with 26 points off 20 takeaways vs. 10 from 17 for the Eagles.
- Our fast break re-appeared to some extent. We scored 11 points off the break of 105 instead of 2 of 99 as against BU.
- EMU had an unusual line. They scored 57 points, 16 from the paint, 6 from the line and 15 from the arc. That means they hit for 18 from the Twilight Zone between the arc and the paint. That’s 32% of their points. Old fashioned basketball. Unfortunately, they didn’t do enough of everything else.
- It was the first game since South Carolina State where we won every quarter.
- Some where Dino Babers was smiling. Our games are speeding up. Our fastest paced games, save one have been the last three: 153-141-159 possessions. We'd been averaging 132 a game before that.
