Comments
- This was SU’s lowest point total since Temple beat them 49-31 on February 21, 1945. Jim Boeheim was 4 months old.
- Our missed three pointers were glaring but they missed about the same amount, (24 vs. 21) and hit a lower percentage, (17%-16%). We lost the game inside, where we got out-scored 16-26.
- The Cavs out-scored us 0-6 in the “Twilight Zone” between the paint and the arc, a larger area of the court this year. Last year we usually won this stat.
- It always interests me that the more aggressive defensive team gets called for the fewer fouls. Part of it is that aggressive defenders get to where they need to be first. Part of it is that referees tend to call what seems excessive. If aggressive defense is the norm, they don’t call fouls for aggression. If passive defense is the norm, they do.
