Team Stats:

POSSESSION

Rebounding
(Add each team’s offensive rebounds to their opponent’s defensive rebounds. Then figure the offensive rebounds as a percentage of that)
We rebounded 11 of our 37 misses = 29.7%
They rebounded 13 of their 30 misses = 43.3%

Effective Offensive Rebounding

We got 14 points on 11 O-Rebs = 1.27 points
They got 15 points on 13 O-Rebs = 1.15 points

Turnovers
(Total turnovers – the other team’s steals = unforced turnovers)
We had 16 turnovers – 8 steals = 8 unforced
They had 15 turnovers – 7 steals = 8 unforced

Points per Takeaway
(Points off turnovers divided by the number of turnovers the other team had)
We had 18 points from 15 takeaways = 1.20 points
They had 27 points from 16 takeaways = 1.69 points

Unsettled Situations
(Effective offensive rebounding + Points per Takeaway: [Second Chance Point + Points off Turnovers] divided by [Offensive Rebounds + Opposition Turnovers)
We had 32 points in 26 unsettled situations = 1.23

Comments:

- Tyler Lydon still got credited with his 11th straight game playing every minute but Matt Park and Jim Satalin remembered a brief time he was on the bench in the first half. I guess it wasn’t a full minute.

- Tyler easily led in net points but I’d still pick Ryus Battle as our player of the game as he was the only one scoring in the first half when nothing else was working.

- The fact that Battle was the O-dog with no assists tells you something about how we played today.

- We’ve broken our seasonal record for the longest drought at the beginning of a half five times in six games: 16:36 vs. Clemson; 16:02 vs. Pittsburgh; 15:33 vs. Louisville; 14:26 vs. Georgia Tech and now 14:24 vs. Louisville.

- We’ve been beaten on the boards in 12 of 17 ACC games.

- Louisville’s 27 points off turnovers were the most we’ve surrendered since the - ugh – St. John’s game, (32)

- Any time you shoot 44% from inside the arc and the other team shoots 63%, you going to lose and it probably won’t be close.

- In the 5 game winnings streak plus the Duke game we shot 56 for 129 from the three point arc, (43.4). In the three game losing streak plus this game, we’ve shot 30 for 113 (26.5%).

- Fast break points: 0-12.

- In the Dome First Chance Points were 43-34. In this game they were 34-48.

- Our starters actually out-scored theirs 65-64. Of course, they played 38 more minutes, too.

This is great detail as always. Cheers. It's mystifying how they weren't routed even worse. UL did have some really dumb and bizarre turnovers and botched some layups I guess.
