You guys are talking about overall record right?
Correct. I'm not finding it.

Disagreement about what? You have always had to.be over 500 to get an at large bid.
The selection principles do not state a team has to be over .500, just that the Committee pick the "best" 37 at-large teams. Chances are, none will be under .500.Is there language somewhere that says this?

I thought it was a rule. I have heard analysts say it was in the past not sure if they changed the rule at some point. The selection principles do not state a team has to be over .500, just that the Committee pick the "best" 37 at-large teams. Chances are, none will be under .500.

No such rule for either NCAA or NIT.
You can't get an at large bid with a losing record. Uk has to win the sec tourney which could happen.

And yes, my question was about overall record. I feel like the committee will put in a big-name team with a poor record if they have any sort of an excuse. It is not a formal rule. Has never happened of coure. Would have to be a really crazy year...
No team has ever received an at large bid with a losing recordmAnd yes, my question was about overall record. I feel like the committee will put in a big-name team with a poor record if they have any sort of an excuse.
Ah, but there's no rule, correct? That was the question and it appears to have been answered in the affirmative. There's a first time for everything...No team has ever received an at large bid with a losing recordm
