especially in the opener, there defense is too strong. I went to the Alabama-USC Kickoff game last year, and though USC kept it close until Saban replaced his upperclassman QB with Jalen Rush, there was not way SC was going to win. They could not score. The penetration on the line, the pursuit of the outside plays, the inability of some excellent SC athletes to get any kind of penetration. The Alabama defense, whether its talent or coaching or both, comes out early in the season too ready for any college offense.
Offenses mature as the season goes along, so who knows depending on their QB situation FSU may get another crack at them with a better performing offense, or maybe we will get our shot (yeah, sure, i would be thrilled with 6-6 and a bowl), but early in the season is not the time to try.
