Except back in the GROB days.

1. Our OL was supposed to be a strength. They, including superstar all-pro Hickey, got manhandled.
2. How is it that Villanova can put a better QB on the field than SU? Really?
3. Don't even want to talk about Hunt. Don't care if I ever see him again.
4. I've been saying this all along. The DBs flat out suck. They will be the ruination of this season.
5. I see McDonald was in mid-season form - last mid-season.

We did not exactly look prepared to play at the start of last season either. The good news is we eventually turned it around.

This year it doesn't appear the defense will be of any help so we could be in real trouble.

The whole team seemed to lack energy. I wonder if they worked them to hard during training camp. I mean they all seemed to lack burst. Villanova seemed fresher the whole game to me.

WVU 2005 is still the gold standard for being unprepared but tonight was a solid 2nd place.

at least that game the defense came to play - agree about that offense though, bleck

Jeez everyone mellow out. The game sucked but does anyone remember the wonderful performances we had against Stony Brook, Rhode Island and Maine? The Stony Brook game was our third game after two losses and that team looked flat. That was 2012 and things turned out ok. We looked like crap out of the gate last year too. Not happy about tonight's performance at all but we have plenty of time to work things out

Being a Syracuse football obviously means we are very optimistic bunch, I mean hell a lot of us tuned in every week during the GERG error and still thought "Man we have a shot this week, and Robinson hasn't looked that bad at QB". So after calming down I thought about it this way and why it wasn't THAT BAD. If all I told you was we won, we only gave up 10 points (in regulation), they scored on a punt return so we need to work on that, and PTG had 100 yards rushing and a TD, people would be happy.

Now obviously it was a lot worse than that but I was expecting this, very good FCS team, senior QB, this was their super bowl and this happens to good teams more than you think. KState lost to an FCS team last year and still had 8 wins and played Michigan in a bowl game I believe. I know we wanted a blow out but when you take a step back and realize we played over half the game with a QB in his first game after winning the backup QB job and won. We are 1-0 and when we have 8 wins at the end of the year people won't remember the score they will remember the other wins this year.

This may be the Budweiser talking but I still see 8 wins and GO 'IN ORANGE

Fan bases are reactionary, especially after a game where the team just played awful. But I like the optimism and I, too, am expecting this team to build on the disaster that was this game. This game should have doused any illusions the team had of how good they thought they were and that they need to really work to build a team that can execute. The Coaches have a lot of work to do as well, gotta identify opportunities during the game and adjust to take them. They have two weeks before CMU - get it done!

I was up in arms when hunt got canned and they kept running qb runs.

Seriously. There were MANY maddening plays calls, piss poor executions, and just being physically out-toughed, but those QB runs were unreal. Should've been pounding the running game and not let your backup QB be exposed to some potential brutal hits. Stupid.

Stranger things have happened. BC scrapped by this team last year and gave FSU all they wanted.

Too many are rushing to judgement.

i guess i was also fooled again and drank the koolaid. glad we have the bye week. team was not prepared, energetic. we were out played and out coached. i m concerned about all of it,but paticularly hunt losing his cool(although i think refs overreacted) and the entire defense. long season ahead. i think bullough may need some help.

Don't care if you ever see Hunt again? You people are on some crazy stupid moral high ground type ish right now.
He is not a good QB. He has some nice runs b/c of his size, but he really can't throw.
