Class of 2027 New Commit: Adrian Sweeney (NY: CNS) Midfield (9/14/25)

Doesn’t have a recent highlight video, but lots of clips over at hudl. Big kid who can shoot it. Not a lot of defending highlights but have to imagine that happens on the club circuit. If he and Quillard do play ssdm, those are two big athletic kids who can move. Favorite highlight is him barreling through a tripple team for a goal.

Of course always great to get kids to stay home.

Keep thinking with these last two kids if they are gonna play SSDM… who also boost your face off-line and their transition game

Summer Club highlights:

Who ever listed him as a dmid has not seen him much... He is a high end offensive middle . I had heard he had it down to Cornell, Albany , Virginia and Cuse. Cuse worked hard at this one, I know Cornell was the favorite during mid Summer.

I can't speak to his finalists but I know he had a # of options and he was no lock to end up here. It's another really good middie pickup.

Yes, not a d-mid, not even really a 2 way guy. Not sure why he is listed as such.
he lists himself as 2 way

Personal Statement

"I’m a physical 2-way midfielder who plays for Cicero North Syracuse High School, True Upstate Black and True National Black. I’m a relentless competitor and I pride myself on my hustle and my team play. My perfect fit will be a school whose lacrosse team has a blue-collar work ethic and a family culture. When I am not playing lacrosse, I like to lift weights, golf, hunt and fish."

Why ? He's committed and plays lacrosse in a very good league on a very young talented team.
I don’t know I’ve never taken Cns as a lacrosse power. I mean maybe some do.
But it was a legit question.
Who plays in the league with them these days , Jd and west genny?

CNS is the 2nd largest HS in Section III

They're in Class A with B'ville, WG, FM, L'pool, and RFA

Sweeney made the All-CNY team last year. 40 & 17.

I mean liverpool and bville have made multiple state championship games the past decade on top of Genny/FM/JD all being strong too.. he also plays for True Upstate and the True allstar team which is legit comp

Yeah bvilles run was impressive. I remember bits and parts of liverpools.
How close in talent is seeetlax and true upstate?

Sweetlax is a national brand so the True All-State team is more on par with them (Sweeney is on that), but the upstate team is nothing to cough at either

Section 3 Class A is known to be one of the top public leagues in the country. West Genny , Bville, FM, JD all have multiple state championships. CNS has the staff from OCC that had built that dynasty and I believe Dylan Donahue is helping them as well. It looks like they have started developing a program there who are now competing in the A's. Looks like Sweeney is now the 6th D1 kid they have committed the last few years. Lacrosse in this area is not football or basketball where you need to leave to get competition, players come here to get competition.

as good as fm has been over the years, they've never won a state championship.

cns with their size and their coaches if they stick it out, i can see them being a force and consistent tough out not too far down the line.
