Class of 2022 New Commit: Luke Rhoa (DC: St John's) Mid

I don’t see how this is worthy of any goal of the year discussion. There is certainly playing time available for offensive midfielders next year and a ton of time available starting in 2023. Rhoa looks like as good of a candidate for that time as anyone else.

Think the guy was mainly proud of the camera work, but either way still a pretty sweet goal. Rhoa has the size/strength and definitely has the shot. He had a couple goals in that game vs Taft that had highlights on youtube where he just blasted it from 13-15 yards out. We will see how the dodging translates but the shot is already pretty elite.

Luke Rhoa, midfield, St. John’s (D.C.) / Crabs / Syracuse – NLF No. 60 ’22

“There aren’t many shooters who can stretch out a defense with either hand the way that Rhoa does. He packs a ton of power on his shot and doesn’t need a ton of room to get it off. He’s front and center as arguably the best player for the Cadets, a team that will content for the top spot nationally throughout the season. Rhoa showed off his offensive upside with four goals in St. John’s season-opening rout of Georgetown Prep.”
