I thought of you immediately, loli can.
LETS GO BABYYYYNow that's how you juice up a recruiting class! LFG! Woo hoo!
Wardwell was highly ranked, but I don't know if he was the #1 goalie. There have been some highly ranked goalies at SU that haven't played. I'm thinking of Parker Ferrigan and the big guy from New jersey, Tyler Avallone.Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is the first time Syracuse has grabbed the number one goalie recruit. John Galloway finished second to Adam Ghittleman (and was ranked #11 overall) and Jimmy McCool was behind Thomas Ricciaradelli (and ranked 20th overall).
Probably not adding anything new to the discourse surrounding Sobel, but I don't find many goalie highlight videos entertaining. That is NOT the case with Sobel. He's big, explosive and really quick. He seems to be toying with shooters out there and plays with a lot of swagger. That's what I want to see in my goalie.
Have to think that Coach O was leading this charge, not just because he's the defensive coordinator, but that the best goalie he's coached was Brendan Krebs, a tall (6'3) and athletic goalie who's starting in the PLL. Sobel must have reminded him a lot of Krebs. Really excited about this addition.
Blake Ulmer was IL’s #1 rated goalie recruit in the 2019 class when he verballed in Sept. of his Junior year. A legacy whose father Rick played goalie at SU, he ended up an IL 3 star who transferred to Tampa after a year & was D2 Goalie of the Year as a Jr. & Sr.Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is the first time Syracuse has grabbed the number one goalie recruit. John Galloway finished second to Adam Ghittleman (and was ranked #11 overall) and Jimmy McCool was behind Thomas Ricciaradelli (and ranked 20th overall).
