It was the first time John Jay beat the Huskers in eight years, snapping a string of 15 losses. It was also ended Yorktown's 26-game winning streak against Section 1 opponents.

Boys lax: John Jay celebrates a win over Yorktown eight years in the making

"When bad passing didn’t end a Huskers possession, it was aggressive defense by John Jay or save by Shahe Katchadurian in goal. He came up with eight critical stops."

Katchadurian made a pair of highlight stops down the stretch.

“Shahe is a brick wall,” Adamec said. “He was the heart and soul of our defense today."

I caught the first half of this game last night. Not much action and raining so i abandoned to grab some dinner. Biggest thing that stood out was Shahe's ability to turn saves into fast breaks. 1 moment stood out as he dropped to a knee to make a save on a low shot and in one motion popped up and released a great outlet pass to a breaking middie. He was able to do this on 3 or 4 occasions. Should be fun to watch if he wins the job.
