a "new" musical from Barry Manilow (I put "new" in scare quotes because it has been in the works for nearly two decades, receiving an early staging in 1997).
Saw it at the Ahmanson last night. It's not bad but needs a lot of work, especially the first act, before it can go to Broadway.
The reason I am posting about it is that the cast features two graduates of Syracuse University. Chris Dwan plays a key supporting role as one of the Comedian Harmonists, the group whose story the musical tells. But the standout is Hannah Corneau, who isn't asked to do much as a secondary love interest, but who sings the best number in the show, "Where You Go" in the second act.
