I'd like to see us finally suit up a big bad azz safety in the size mold of TBuck, Darius, or Harris. Enough with the either smurfy or light weight safeties.
Eskridge

Eskridge
I think it was pretty obvious what he was doing...attempting to make a tackle while avoiding as much contact as possible. It was a bizarre play to say the least.funny you say that. I love eskridge but out of all the plays that went wrong for SU this year, that play in the cinncinati game still bothers me more than anything. I dont know what he was doing. Im gonna try to forget that one beacause I know he's one of the best athletes on the team. lol...
He fits in the skinny category. Tall yes, thick and stocky no. Hits like a mac truck no.
I'm still trying to understand What that was I saw him do in the Cincy game.
My 9 year old recommended I call the tv show Fact or Faked Paranormal Files. Whatever that was could not have been a real safety attempting to make a real tackle.

I knew it was a biblical name...but as part of the aging SU fan base, I couldn't remember from where. :noidea:

I actually REALLY like him as a player! Like you, I was stunned by the play...one of the strangest I've ever seen.It was just a boneheaded play. I remember rewinding that play several times trying to figure that play out. I think I finally decided he was trying to make a big play going for the ball and didn't make much of an attempt at the tackle because he must have thought he had teammates swarming behind him ready to clean it up. He just whiffed on the strip. I think he'll be really solid. You can't judge him just on that play alone even though it looked pretty bad.
He's a hard hitter. I was confused by that play too but the kid had some big hits and big plays this year, that sack he had against Bridgewater was huge.Me too. One of the most bizarro plays I've ever seen.
I think he's got a lot of potential with his physical attributes but i'm not convinced he has that killer instinct. He really needs to take it up a notch in spring ball and into the fall. I want to see him laying some wood out there. With Shamarko graduating we really need someone to step up and bring that intimidation factor to the secondary.
All4SU actually knew Nicodemus.
But Tyler Rouse is too short :bang:
ure why not defense. Tell me about his speed. I'm not going to presume anything on Laray smith coming to Syracuse. Gus may indeed be the "super RB on the roster next year aside from Jerome. I want someone in the back field that can break a score from anywhere on the field and not get caught from behind. The most exciting play in football IMO is the long breakaway run for a TD. Every stride in front of the defenders is a victory.Wonder if he transitions to DB...
So was Joe Morris. But Tyler Rouse is too short :bang:
