New rule I want to see in college football

I love the idea. Although in certain situations, coaches could put a scrub in and instruct him to flop. If he can’t come back in no biggy. That’s the only workaround. But I do love your idea in general.

If a team does that, the stadium is required to play TLC's "No Scrubs" over the loud-speaker in order to embarrass the guilty team and call them out for their ridiculousness.

Also known as a "Buster."

Send in a scrub to kick the guy while he's down. When the fight starts following the miraculous recovery of the player on the ground, you'll just lose a scrub and they'll lose a starter.
Hahaha! Football "Goons"! Use your 4 games for redshirts, that aren't going to play, to form a "Goon Squad".

Wow! I think you're onto something there!!!

I'm on the goon squad.

You are the goon squad!

You can use a TO would be my compromise.
If your QB is dinged it’s not because he is faking an injury and maybe they should sit one series.

If he hurts a finger on his non throwing hand he should sit a whole series? That's non-sense. Trading a TO is extreme for somebody with a minor one play injury.

I'm not sure what the answer is - but it's definitely unsportsman like conduct.

Basketball teams should do this when the pace is frenetic, you can't break the press and the crowd is going crazy. Have a kid flop so you can huddle up and regroup your troops.

I *hate* that people with knowledge about CFB (I think Hale is very good) can say stuff like faking injuries and refs missing calls don't affect outcomes. Everything that happens on the field can and does affect an outcome.

What they are really saying is "there's no way to know what would happen if that guy didn't fake an injury and since VaTech was winning and looked better let's stop talking about it" ...

I think it's DCs way of dealing with tempo which they all think is a BS way of playing offense, so they justify their unethical behavior rather than getting their D into the shape it needs to be play vs a tempo offense. It's the shortcut method.

When a ref stops the clock for an injury, does the D get to sub anyone at any position or is it just that injured guy? Because part of the advantage of going fast is that the D can't sub if you don't. If the DC knows they are getting killed because of certain personnel, do they fake an injury to stop that specific disadvantage.

Would they though, to a greater extent than they already do? I'm not sure of that. If a player is really hurt, in that moment of pain, are they going to have the presence of mind to think "I better get up and power through this right now or else I won't be back in this series?" Or will they just be in pain?

An anecdote; when WMU played NIU last year, late in the 3rd quarter, Steven separated his knee-cap from the tendon. Played the next couple of snaps until he just couldn't stand up any more. Then he played at Toledo the next week (which I thought was stupid). So, yeah, it's likely that some players would fight through an injury to a greater extent.

Defensive players rarely throw.
Basketball keeps playing, if there is an offensive advantage

I was specifically thinking about when we're struggling to inbound the ball. Just have- a non important player - flop like he rolled his ankle.

Love this approach.

This is why I am a small-time booster for UVA. I have started to send Xmas Cards to Bennett’s players with $100 bills in them.

Stay tuned...
