Fran made two major staff hires in the offseason. I think we were all disappointed to lose Ross Douglass to Oregon. Programs with the resources of Oregon probably don't want you unless you're really good. But Myles White has gotten the WR corps playing really well so far this season, with a lot of new faces playing more substantial roles than they have in the past.

I don't have to mention special teams were brutal last year. Just one major error after another that would have killed us most years. Ricky Brumfield has really improved all of the ST units. No they haven't been perfect, but they are executing like a competent ST unit and not killing us game after game.

Fran really nailed it with these two hires.

He made it a point to credit Kevin Coyle

I think the HC is only as good as his assistants, starting with the OC and DC.
Case in point: Dabo didn't suddenly become a bad coach, but the recent Clemson DC (2025) and OC (2023) hires have corresponded with the decline of their program the last couple of years.
