Good eye. It used to say United Technologies in that black strip. Presumably that was in the contract and it wasn't amended after Carrier was spun off?

It does. Unfortunately, in the drawing, the orange is too red. In the picture, the orange is too yellow.

We have to do a better job picking the right shade of orange and using it consistently throughout the Dome. The chairs in the background of the picture for instance, are the right shade of orange.

I went back and looked. You’re right. You’d think this would be a simple thing. But they make some things so difficult.

Yes but at least back then the men's line was the darker one. Now it's the lighter one. The darker one is easier to spot with peripheral vision.

Syracuse's orange is officially pantone 1665C. The chairs in the background do appear to more closely match the 'right' pantone as you suggest. It's rather peculiar indeed that SU struggles with getting this right, especially for a school that associates itself so much by a color.

How does SU's signature orange compare to other shades?

Five ACC schools use orange in their uniform combinations. Clemson-Syracuse offers clash of like colors.
