Back at Oregon people have heard how upset Chip Kelly is and how he wants out of Philly w/3yrs left on his deal, can he rattle enuff chains?

If I were a college AD with an HC opening I would be calling Chip Kelly. If Jim Mora from UCLA got an NFL HC job I could see Kelly going to UCLA.

Kelley is the best out there, we should jump on that deal! Think about how we have a talented QB and receivers core plus our D is stepping up, we are shaping up to be a force but we need a top-flight Coach to steer the ship! I'm excited to see how SU will pursue Kelley when he declares his independence from the Eagles!

He's got something like four years left on his contract. While we don't know for sure that he's upset, I think he has a right to be upset. His personnel guy, Tom Gamble, who was brought on as a stipulation for his accepting the job, was fired and escorted from the Eagles' offices. No one is commenting.

Apparently, GM Howie Roseman has owner Jeff Lurie's ear, has been around since he was just out of kneepants, and Roseman and Kelly aren't particularly close.

Can this marriage be saved? Stay tuned.

Apparently, he wasn't happy that personnel guy Tom Gamble was fired.

And for those that think SU has a chance to hire Chip Kelly, I have inside info on the timeline for that happening:

He was too busy looking at the sleep patterns of his backup long snapper.

If he ends up out there, I would imagine Uncle Phil would push to bring him home to Eugene.

Of course we know it's not happening. Wouldn't it be awesome though if you saw headlines like "Chip Kelly Accepts 6 year, 72 Million Dollar Contract from Syracuse" or "Greatest Show on Field Turf - Kelly Orange" or something like that?

The Cuse.com headline would read "Doctor Gross reaches agreement with former Oregon HC". Heck, I bet even Giansante would show up for that introductory presser.

I know you know it's not happening - I just had 'When Pigs Fly' pic gathering electronic dust.

And it would be awesome to read that - hopefully I would survive the resulting massive coronary.

Now, just find a booster with that kind of swag. Or is that you?;)

That's like cashing in your 401k to go to the Gold Club.

The lap dances are great while they last but you're going to end up broke and alone.

But it would be just as fun.

Kelley isn't going anywhere. The iggs just gave him more power.

I'm not sure they did. They gave Roseman a promotion, and they gave Kelly more player personnel authority. They even said he'll lead the search for a new pro player personnel guy:

Problem is, he HAD the guy he wanted in Gamble, and the higher-ups fired him. Today, they had a 'lengthy sitdown'.

This smacks of Lurie trying to keep the situation from escalating after the story blew up today. Maybe he'll succeed. But I don't think the Cold War is thawing, and it remains an open question as to whether Kelly's gonna want to stay long-term.

Although, Bees, you COULD be right. Lurie seems less clueless than a lot of owners. Was pretty encouraged by this quote from Lurie:

"I have a very good relationship with Chip that continues to grow stronger and stronger. When we spoke, he was thoughtful, thorough and professional. There were no demands, no threats- quite the contrary- he was passionate, engaged and articulated a dynamic and clear vision on how this fully integrated approach will work. We look forward to seeing it come to life over time."
