Deep dive here, probably bordering on conspiracy theory. There are three California recruits coming to campus this weekend, who have, it seems appeared on cuse’s radar out of nowhere. According to their instagrams, they have something in common. They have all recently taken visits to San Diego and seemingly only San Diego. San Diego’s coach is Steve Lavin. What if there are conversations in place to bring in Lavin and these three recruits to be his inaugural class? No idea who the parties would be in these imagined discussions. (JW and Lavin) (JB, JW and Lavin), etc.

Interim HCs are more likely in the event of a firing and not a planned retirement; however, that could serve as a chance to keep it within the SU family without ticking off fans and without having to fire him if he does poorly.
