Absolutely critical 3 game stretch. As positive as the vibes are right now the season over season results from last year show us treading water. In fact we beat CMU and WFU by greater margins on the road, hung tough with a Top 25 opponent (ND) before falling and beat an FCS team at home. While the win over URI was certainly more convincing than Nova last year the level of competition was significantly less talented.
So USF is last year's Maryland game and UVa is last year's Duke. As I mentioned earlier the schedule sets up perfectly for a young team focused on week to week improvement. Best case we come home against a Pitt team comparable to us in talent with a chance to be bowl eligible before the FSU, Clemson, Louisville gauntlet. At that point the confidence level will be sky high and anything can happen. Worst case we need to go 2-1 in the next 3 then find at least one win in the last 5. Go into FSU at 4 - 2 and, with the remaining SOS, our backs may not be against the wall but we can reach back and touch it.
