Interesting. Didn’t think about this. Google says portal closes Dec 28. Seems like a silly rule as the quarterfinals aren’t even played until Dec 31st. So if you’re on a team w a first round bye you have to enter before your playoff game is even played I guess or wait until April.

QB is the "point guard" of the offense in football. Unlike the basketball team, I have 100% confidence in Fran and the staff that we will have our "Plan A" QB ready to go to start against Tennessee. I'm just going to sit back and look forward to seeing who that is.

The UVA Football program needs a quarterback, and supposedly has an extra two or three million dollars in NIL money to play around with.

It’s a risk, but his jersey stayed pretty clean all year. Have to think that NOT playing an SEC team increased his chances of playing.

May. But the reality is they’ve probably already worked out deals if they’re going to portal and things are basically done in advance. The agents do all the shopping in advance for a lot of the bigger established guys from what I’ve been told.

That would be absolutely amazing if McCord is granted another year. With all these kids getting 7th and 8th years i'm sure giving him a 5th year is possible. Hypothetically, if he some how does it could be in Kyle's best interest to return. He's not a guarantee to make an active roster. If he hangs on and makes PS he only makes $225k/yr for the season. He could go the safe route and make more than that with NIL. That way he guarantees himself to make more money, goes into next year as a possible pre season all-american and heisman candidate and a chance to improve his draft stock even more now that he's fully on the radar. Just look as far as Cam Ward. He easily could have went pro last year. This is all very wishful thinking and i'm not going to hold my breathe but if he's given the opportunity to at least have that as a decision there would be a fighting chance.

I can't begin to get my hopes up for this, but if we had another year of McCord and Coach Nixon, holy cow, I would like our chances of getting a couple big upsets next year.

My gut is telling me it's gonna be McCord next year. Zero inside info. Fran's comment yesterday about "Kyle's our QB until the NCAA says he's not" really confirmed it. It's all in the NCAA's hands

If he's back as the anchor, we could make a serious run next year, against that schedule.

I can't begin to get my hopes up for this, but if we had another year of McCord and Coach Nixon, holy cow, I would like our chances of getting a couple big upsets next year.

I'm not going to get my hopes up either, but with an upgraded OL, McCord would be tough for anyone to beat. That was the big problem in the Pitt game IMO.

If McCord was back, what's the impact on Allen and Gadsden? Both could come back for another year. Wow, that team could cause some trouble, and generate interest among guys in the portal to join our team. We need more help on defense and on the O Line.

Gadsden is probably better off going pro now, Allen you could probably argue either way.
